Also, X-Transbots posts lots of things on their blog that aren't their projects. The accompanying text does not imply this is one of their projects; just bad reporting by Seibertron I would say.

What's with all the movie bashing in this thread?!?!

There's just no reason for it. I'm sure there's quite a few people (myself included) who would pay for a 3rd party leader Blackout if it actually happens and was done a bit better than this currently is. I'd easily pay $200 for this character if done right.

    Hehe!
I noticed it right away but I forgot the name of the creator. ;)
Those designs are unique, you'll never forget them.

    Disappointing.

But that needed some work before I would pay for it anyhow.

    I'd buy it.

Being a big fan of moderately close scale figures, i'd actually pay good money for a nice leader class blackout figure to go in my movie bots collection. Unfortunately this is not looking nice at all in my opinion. Good effort so far, but very far from good enough.

Any ideas how much something like this'll cost?

In the mean time, I'm gonna start saving money now.

Same . That and I am guessing he's an actual in demand figure wanted where the movie version may have someone dreaming about it but comes across more like a "Didn't know I wanted it until I saw it" type thing.

I don't think people are dissing the movies per se but the general vibe I get is people buy the movie toys, keep them til the next movie and then sell them off. Just doesn't seem like a viable market as much as the g1 but there are no steadfast rules in collecting so who knows what may be big outside the g1 realm.

You do realize that this is currently on this website's homepage being reporting in exactly the same manner right?

Pity this is just a scout size custom. Though it looks a lot better than the Cyberverse Blackout.

Damn - so this isn't real? I would also pay good money for both a leader class Blackout/Grindor and a leader class Longhaul. I love G1 first and foremost but I also love my movie figure display collection too.

I admit, I just assumed it was posted at Seibertron first, since we'll often see news posts linking there, but according to the thread timestamps it was brought up here first. I also tend to trawl the forums here rather than look at TFW's own homepage, so I wasn't even aware it was there.

Either way, this should have been more thoroughly researched by all parties. I'm not against sharing news across site per se, since we're all using the same sources, but it can be problematic when you end up with faulty information like this.

IMO, among the movie fans, a leader class Blackout is in high demand. Hopeful this is real,if not maybe a 3rd party company will see this "news" and give them ideas.

Given the uneven QC with their G1 Devy add-on set, this Leader not-Blackout makes me leery, especially those uber thin/hollow panels on the legs and stick-thin knees. I want them to succeed at this and want this not to suck but something tells me otherwise. Will keep an eye for this. I mean, this is what a lot of movie fans have been clamoring for.

I'm confused. Is this a coming product, or just someone's custom?

What? If you even looked at the movie fans wants, the top of the list since forever was a bigger Blackout.

Looks alright minus the back of those legs, but I hope this means more folks are branching out. I mean Leader animated Lugnut anyone?
