This is deffinately a different toy than the Voyager.

 

While I'm not sure about the UK specifically, there are places that have been having Prime airing on Cartoon Network.

Also, this IS the Voyager Megatron from the Argos catalog. There is no doubt in my mind. The "brown" bits can be explained by the rather poor quality of these images. Those parts will mos likely be a darker shade of gray in-person. The stomach on the Argos picture isn't transformed right, while this actually has it correct. The right arm and other bits match-up perfectly (even the placement of the con logo). The cannon does appear to be attached differently in each picture, which could easily be explained by the person taking the in-hand photos not knowing where it should be attached to.

 

Hope this is wave 1.

 

^This lol; for me now with the TF: Prime toys it seems like standard proceedure now to see pics like this, then without skipping a beat, hoping to a) see them in more detail and b) see how Takara will go with them. In this case the same goes for at leasta few of the figures revealed in the catalogue scan from earlier in the day.  

We probably all suspected this figure was comeing; it was conspicuous by its absence as soon as we knew a Voyager Optimus Prime was on its way. One thing I find interesting though is that we saw prototype pics of Voyager Skyquake and Starscream, then Voyager Megatron comes out of owhere and leapfrogs past them with colour pics and in hand images no less.

 

To me they look different. The top portion of the jet mode looks completely different unless this has a mistransformation.And I do not notice the screw for the battery compartment in the Argos scan.

But who the hell really knows for sure......

 

I can't help but wonder if the cannon can detach from the blade. (Or the other way around)

 

Eh, I guess those are better than nothing. I'm sure some better quality pics will make a decision easier.

But as for Kostya's link: I love that CG render of TFP Optimus kneeling down. I find that super cool!  

 

I have yet to see one Prime toy in my area. Sigh.

It's hard to tell this and the deluxe figure apart.

 

Definitely the Voyager. same proportions, altmode looks mistransformed (missing head) which explains that, and unlike in the Argos pic (where it covers the crotch), it has the midsection pushed up properly. The arms look different because these are facing forward properly while in the Argos pic, they're turned sideways so that the exhaust/engine/thingy is facing forward instead of the purple bits.

And to me it looks like the left hand looks so weird because it's splayed open while the right is more closed.

 

Looks good, even though he appears to have backpack wings. Darn it! There are so many great figures in the main line, but I really want to collect everything from Cyberverse! This line is too darn good!

 

Yes, like I said earlier, this HAS to be the voyager. I'm looking at side b sides of them and they match from what I can tell, excluding miss transformation of course.

 

That toy needs that gold plastic like a dog needs a submarine.

Everytime Hasbro do this I shake my head and mutter "Morons" I'm still irked they didn't bother making a ROTF Megs that was actually the proper colours and now they go do it again... "Bafoons".

Argos should be done for false advertising if you order a silver Megatron out of the catalogue and get a half bronze one.

It is the same one as it's got the same shonky left hand.

 

Wait that thing has gold on it? Man I hope that thing isn't a potential GPS victim waiting to happen after a few years.

 

There is no gold plastic on this figure, or even brown plastic for that matter. What you are seeing is the darker gray discolored by the absolutely horrible quality of these two pictures.

 

While the brown-gray coloration in these pics is rather iffy, I'm actually just happy that there's gonna be a Voyager-scale toy of Megatron to face off against that of Optimus. The above shot of the vehicle mode isn't the best either, but it looks pretty nice.

By the way, that robot mode pic shows that (hopefully) either the cannon can be interchangeable between arms, or that the pic is mirrored.

 

both figures look exactly the same when you do a direct comparison.

 

i'm just worried about the kibble in the hand area.. so far.. i think the deluxe figure has better looking forearms.

but i'm super happy that we're getting this.

now all we need to see is ratchet.

i think it's funny that we've seen two deluxe molds of bumblebee, the vehicon, and cliffjumper, before we've seen ratchet.

 

Agreed, especially since we've possibly seen all of the new figures for wave three already. There's also the possible Arcee v2, and the fact we saw both Voyager Starscream and Skyquake before Megatron.
