This design is covered in like buttons.

    Definitely on-board with this design.

Very nice drawing... Wish I could draw like that.

Now, the design itself sucks. Looks like a guy/girl in a cosplay outfit.

Definitely picking up some heavy Hearts of Steel inspiration from this design... Guess it shows what GG's been up to recently!

I sort of like that. It looks a little too human-like to me with its proportions—I wish it were a bit more chunky or blocky—but that looks pretty cool. My four year old just asked me if that was Starscream, so Guido's doing something right;)

Is there a Thundercracker or Skywarp around? Do they look exactly the same or are they a little taller or bigger than Starscream?

I like it. If it were smoother I'd say Roche, very nice Guido come back soon.

I really like it. It's G1 meets Prime.

It's Ok I don't mind the odd direction change now and again - as we got with Cybertron Starscream or prime Starscream.

But being loosely associated with anything IDW does it no favours, I can only compartmentalise so much "S***" and I'm already using an extreme effort of will to like hearts of steel - just because of the setting and character design.

I don't much like it when there is actually a character design I do like but it still has the taint of association of IDW on it. I find that kind of depressing.

For me looking at an IDW comic is a bit like waking up and discovering Hasbro have decided that all future versions of bumblebee have to be mute because the Movie Universe is so 'Popular'.

I react to anything with IDW on it the way some people do to Crazy devy.. It's kind of what "Insane S***" are they going to farm out next that will drag the franchise even further down a creative & artistic dead end..

I can't even give it the respectful disinterest I give to Japanese G1 & Beast Era Transformers TV shows and TF Animated. It's often worse than Glyos, Nerf Guns and Bugmen put together at least I can avoid the unsavoury obsession some people have with that stuff and it's all off topic so it's effectively "None of my Business" but to stand by and see IDW wreck the franchise worse than bay just make me make 1,000 consecutive sad Panda faces.

I have no complaints with some of the talent I just think the higher ups are enforcing of or leading an artist style on those people that is a complete dead end. I mean for crying out loud have you seen Rodimus - I know Rodimus is a burk anyway but they actually managed to make him look even more stupid than usual in the way he's drawn... And Metalhawk is just frankly 'Bizarre'.

When I read people dissin' dreamwave I actually laugh as if anything they at least actually managed to publish more than 3 comics that didn't suck.

So perhaps if the talent want to show off their designs they shouldn't use the dirty word "IDW" then I can give them a more rational response rather than that word just triggering my anger rant mode as it always does...

Anyway you can carry on gushing now... I'll must go and see if there's a program that you can get that blocks words in text so I do not have to read the word IDW. as it just sets me off like a clockwork axe murdering mouse.

I'm really digging it. Looks like it could work as either an Earth OR Cybertronian design.

I like the design yet dont want to see it in some mainstream media like a comic. That skinny look is what bothers me about Roche's designs. I like a bulky bot.

    Very nice:)

I wonder what he'd look like in G1 colors and insignia markings. I wonder if Guido would have placed them on the wings as usual or if he was going to slap one on just above the cockpit in that open space.

Looks cool, but I wouldn't like it official. There's some stuff going on I'd change. But basically it's a cool idea.

I dunno, looks somehow like a mix of a Seeker and Animated Rodimus.

in the transformers world those kinds of aesthetics belong to the fembots. even prime Starscream has a more masculine sleekness to him. really skinny upside down triangles is still more masculine than curvy legs and hips and chest.. he looks exactly like animated arcee.... with fairy wings :/ and she was still more blocky in the right areas.

human aesthetics are generally defined by humanoid insides. of which robots have none. devestator has a dump truck for abs. optimus, windows for pecks. their alt modes personafy their robot mode. this guy has muscle shaped plane parts.

cool lookin' but hardly appropriate. especially for a male.

It's cool, but I echo much of the sentiment here... it looks like a human wearing wings. Not that it's bad, it just doesn't look like it could Transform.

Did you even read the post? Or you just facepalm whatever you don't agree with regardless? Because that was a very elaborated opinion, which MANY people share.

To answer the question asked on the front page- no, it's not a style I want to see more of. It's executed well, but doesn't look like a Transformer to me.

He does really nice work but this design is too stylized/too great a departure from what the G1 guys usually look like.

Your rather good at this colouring lark... I wonder what it would look like as Ramjet or Sunstorm. ?

Girls in robot suits does not seem such a bad idea....?
