I'm just curious what peoples opinions are. Would you rather play a game where you are X character, say Optimus Prime. Or would you rather make your own character and intact with people like Optimus Prime? For me, I always want to make my own character. The already established characters are cool but I want to fight besides/against them not as them.
I'd prefer existing. I always find there to be a clunky aspect to custom characters, whether they be unfitting voices, wonky animation, or unparalleled Mary Sue-ism.
Existing - my all time favourite of any series is G1 Sideswipe - to play as him in the Kaon level was just awesome.
Depends on the game mode. For campaign I'd rather be playing an already existing character, while I have no problem against using a custom character in multiplayer.
Existing by far. In addition to them being far cooler than anything I come up with they are more fun to play in most games, because they frequently have unique voices, onscreen text, etc., and user-made ones either have to reuse something I associate with an existing character, or have something generic and boring, or nothing at all.
Well, in WFC I'm glad we could customize but for FOC, I'm always going to see someone with a cooler look or more effective choices or both.
I'll go with existing characters. Creating my own transformer is a fun concept, but in WfC, I didn't really enjoy it as much. I'd rather play as Starscream than just try to remake him.
Well, I must confess now - even if FoC is going to have a new, you-beaut way of customizing in multiplayer like they stated, I'll probably be making my characters look like all the ones that got left out this time around. My main pet peeve with DotM was (apart from how short it was) only a single character per level. That they're getting rid of co-op seems to reinforce the idea that it's a character per level, but I'll miss all the old options. Being able to pick from Optimus, Bumblebee or Ratchet for the first Autobot mission was just.. really, really nice. :/
