It looks alright, I'm not happy about all the exposed parts though. A sleek design doesn't mean removing all the armour and leaving a skeletal robot with huge parts you can see through.
It would still be possible to have a sleek design with the solid robot forms we've become accustomed to. I think it would look better to be honest, all the exposed parts and gaping spaces make him look like giant mechano set more than anything.

Bumblebee was probably built as prop as he interacts more with humans than others. It could still be CGI-d out of final film.

    I want the toy !

Im betting on Non-Transformable figures, an Alternators-esque figure, a main line basic/deluxe/etc, for all the main guys.. Why Not really !

May even get different action feature.. or battle damage editions ! !

:D  different is good in this instance.. Will Starscream look like a giant Transtech skribble tho>?

    Wait and see i guess...

Two things about designing characters this way.

    1. You lose the human/emotional element thay the characters once had.
    2. They become more real ie. not as powerful or fantastic. More like scrap iron machines ready to breakdown instead of cybernetic super-life.

The horns are the struts behind the grey cylinders on the helmet. The arms you see hanging there. One hand is by the wheel and the other is disconnected and you can see it under the armpit.

I also notice they are clearly taking the model apart for moving. Notice the guys standing by the torso and lifting part of the chest assembly off.

    It still look tonnes awesome.

Totalyy agree about the "Johnny 5" comment. That was my first thought when I saw it. But, I already kinda knew that they would be like that since I saw the fan made Optimus video a while back. I can totally accept that as Prime since it would be more realistic and do-able. We will probably not get the pretty renditions of Transformers that we are used to. These guys will most likely look like mechanical beings rather than a man in a streamlined robot suit. But that' show it should be and probably must be in order for it to seem real. No anime here.

Perhaps nothing has changed from the shot they've done, think about it, if you were transporting a huge alien robot, that could possibly wake up and attack you, would you want it to have it's hands on?

Also, wasnt there something about him being destroyed at some part, perhaps the army get him after hes been trashed and take off the damaged armour? I mean he wouldnt just lay down on the ground and let them capture him, would he?

I like this design, finally bumblebee looks like he could kick some ass. I want to see full body standing shots!

Agreed. I love this design, and gives me a lot of hope for the movie. Don't freak everyone that's not really into him, I'm there are parts missing (in addition to his left hand), so this is not the entire thing.

For the people that are not seeing it, I cropped and tried to clean up the image a little to show his right hand and horns:

It looks like he's got a full four fingers, I can't make out a thumb, but it might be in the shadow.

His face is pointing up, and those little flaps are the horns. IMO it looks like they are on a pivot-point, so I think they might lay forward against those gray spots once he is standing upright.

Overall, I'm happy with the design and hope the rest of the movie turns out this good.

Yeah, and that's why I'm hoping that there are parts missing, and not so much is exposed. At *THIS* point, it completely looks like a mam made robot, and not a sentient alien life form, i.e. Johnny5.

I'm all for coming up with something that's different and realistic (G1 Purist here), but all the exposed bits make them seem

    A. Weak
    B. Man made.

You figure creatures that are millions of years old (if that is indeed their age in this movie) and are actual robots would have far better techniques for concealing their innards.

Of course the cartoon models and even the comic book renditions would look silly in a live action flick, but I was hoping for a more Alternators like design. Even the A/E/C ones with their otherworldly alt forms aren't as...bare-bones so to speak...

I just don't see how anything that's there forms an automobile.

Unless they're doing the Beast Machines "morphing" thing, which would suck beyond all belief.

I say, still give it a chance. At least I'm going to give it a try.

Wowie-wow-wow.....Im liking what I see,his robot mode looks very sleek for Bummblebee love how his elbow has thoughs sharp hook like parts sticking out!....a real nice upgrade in my opinion for Bummblebee since his robot mode always looked bulky.

I thought he was facing down but now I see....yeah! he is laying on his back...also is that the car engine on his upper back?

You can also tell he is on his back because the helmet...if you look at it....facing up you can see that part Bummblebee has in the middle of his forhead like how Prime has it not sure how to explain it...but its there facing up.The only thing missing I see is his horns, but maybe those two gray circles on his helmet are the places were they will attach it.

Looking at Bummblebee,I cant imangine how tall Prime is.....or the rest of the Transformers. Its great to see they are putting allot of time and detail in to the Transformers.....
