Gamasutra - News - Report: US firm takes control of UK-based Runescape developer Jagex Nothing specifically about TF Universe MMO in there, expect that this deal might potentially see it coming forward a little sooner.
Yeah, an "accelerated" release is never a good thing(Hello, Sword of the Stars 2) I hope they put in the work to make it a good game rather than just rush it out as a cash grab.
I agree! this acceleration will have major bug issues. the game was playing for a while had a major glitch during closed beta cuz it was rushed. and they still haven't fixed the other glitches.
being that it's a piece of browser-based shovelware, I don't see how it had any chance of being anything BUT a cash grab. if they couldn't be bothered to make actual software...
IF it comes out sooner than expected, that's probably the worst news you can get about a game other than a cancellation.
It's a browser game like runescape? (Yes, I'm aware Jagex made it also) This whole time I was under the impression it was going to be some kind of MMO like WOW others.
Only 156 people play Runescape? I though it was a little bigger than that. Anyway, if the overall product of Universe turns out to be a bomb due to the early release, at least we can blame Insight Ventures.
I'm hoping for an open beta, but I don't mind if it releases a little early. It's an online game, there will likely be updates for any significant bugs anyway.
I wish someone with half a damned brain cell would acquire the rights to Star Trek Online Yeah I know it is off topic Well, hopefully I can find someone with some beta codes.
I wish a company would come together to do a Transformers console MMO... Kinda like what Dust 514 is going to be... Except 3rd person optional as well.
