If you wanna go that route, they're both based on Takara's original parts and Sunbow's animation model, so I guess they're both "ripped off." Seriously though, if you want to give G1 Devastator articulation and make him look more like the show, then you're going to have to replace the same parts and make similar changes to them. Even without ever seeing the CD kit, there would have been a resemblance.

Cool design and cool poses, but still too small. Loving my TFC Hercules.

Looks amazing! And affordable! The only thing I'm not really digging is the saggy/melted-looking chest shield/wing, but I can easily just keep that in the box and use the original shield/wing that comes with the Encore 20 Devy I just bought yesterday at the local Japanese Toys'R'Us (for a "mere" $97 USD XD). Aesthetics (minus the oddly shaped chest plate) and articulation (and most importantly price) look to blow the CD parts out of the water!

And although this Devy won't really fit in with most of my collection (I don't have any other G1/Encore figures aside from some Big Mission Cassette-cons with CD parts) I do plan to pose him with my EZ/Legends figures just for "show-accurate" scale purposes. XD

Just preordered this on BBTS and their stock is down to 11. If you want in on this add-on set, better act fast before they're all gone!

According to HK TF Fans Group Facebook, Suggested fast DIY adjustment for KO G1 Devastator + XP-1 https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.214516371968632.55915.109083992511871&type=1, it does not fit the KO, unless some modification is done

Although I remember reading somewhere that X-transbots will release one for the KO version down the road (not sure)

Anyone know if you need any of the original accessories for this to work?

It looks really awesome, so I'm pricing buying up the individual Constructicons, but I'm also trying to figure out if I need to grab any of the accessories as well.

...I must be the only person on the planet who likes my G1 Devastator just the way he is.

Personal criticism about the face and chest wing sculpt aside, the rest of the figure wasn't designed for stable posability, so this is essentially "polishing a turd" ...so to speak.

"Thinking and winning do not mix." Heh, is that actually Devy's motto or did X-Transbots borrow that line from Charlie Sheen? XD

Really looking forward to putting this thing together and terrorizing my EZ/Legends figures with it! I hope Cravy Devy is taking notice regarding their outrageous price gouging practices with this latest release, and that all 3Ps learn in the end the customer is always right!

Meanwhile, MT Giant will reside with FP Bruticus and hopefully FP Mensasor, and the three will be locked in a three-way battle (a la Starscream's Brigade) for my Classics combiner display. XD

Looks great overall, and the price is actually reasonable! I'm just not crazy about the waistplate - does it look like the original waistplate will fit there too?

And what about this vs the Junkion Blacksmith set? I hear the head is great, but the legs look too skinny....

Just grabbed one off of eBay. Got a $25.00 eBay gift card for Christmas and had $5. In ebay bucks that I had to spend before Feburary so I decided on this. The seller had free shipping so in total I got this for $14.95.

    Preorder canceled.

My friend just opened his item and he fedback to me about the problem of fingers popped out from joints. And I checked in the HK TF site, it seems like the norm:
    ????G1??? - Fans Products - HK-TF ???? - Powered by Discuz!

    "可惜啲手指可遠觀而不可褻玩......開一隻跌一隻!"
    Translate:
"Too pity that the fingers are better off for viewing but not for playing....open 1 finger and it drops 1 finger!"

Start to believe it is a design issue.

It is also mentioned somewhere in the above link that CrazyDev Devastator Add on Fingers also have this issue.

    Guys, share your thoughts.

So will this go on the G1 figure? TFSource's website says you might have to do minor mods to make it fit right

It looks that a mix of this and crazy devy parts will make it look much better. Shame that the fingers have the same problem as the crazy devy model. I might wait a couple a years more and damn myself for buying the CD parts for Dev. I'll hold out for cheaper predaking parts!

"This great add-on kit is the perfect upgrade to your Encore #20 Devastator! Note: This is the Devastator upgrade kit, encore Devastator is sold separately. Additionally this works with Encore 20, but with DIY fixes, can be made to work with the G1 or "Reissue/KO" version of Devastator. TFsource is not responsible for any damaged caused by customers modifying this kit."

Interesting.... well, all i have is the original G1 Devy...i hope these modifications are to be made to the kit and not the bots...becuase i will not be doing and mods to my G1 toys.

does anyone know what the differences could be between the Encore version compared to the G1 version?
