They don't need Bay to make more Transformers movies. I'm sure Spielberg can handle it. If Hasbro decides they can make more money, then new movies will happen. It's not up to what fanbois think.

Where in there did I say they needed Bay? I said they needed to get the rights from Hasbro again as their contract has most likely ended. Hasbro is like wise more likely to want to reboot the franchise than to make another Sequel to the existing one.

As for what I think, that really has nothing to do with what is most likely to happen. Personally what I would like is a new director weather or not it is a sequel because I freaking hate Micheal Bay.

I would prefer a reboot of the franchise with character designs we can actually recognize as the characters they're named after and look like they can actually transform rather than things that look like broken unrecognizable piles of scrap metal. I'd also prefer a reboot because the plot is bad enough as it is with the 3 movies it has. If they make any more movies Armada will start looking good. In other words it can only go down hill, there's no way this franchise is getting any better.

Of course there is still a possibility that Hasbro will simply sign for a sequel with a new director. And even if they make a reboot it could end up worse than the first franchise. I really want to see the movies how they SHOULD have been in the first place though, with the actual Transformers as the stars of the movie instead of taking a back seat to the Human story line. I don't think the Human story line should take a back seat either but it shouldn't overpower the title characters. RotF was good at mixing the two. The first movie was absolutely horrible at it. Dark of the Moon was back to being too much human focus but still better than the first movie.

What would of made the first movie better is if we got some focus on the Autobots BEFORE they arrived on Earth and a little less focus on developing characters we never see in either of the sequels. The do little to further the plot and the movie would of done better to shorten the scenes they did have to make room for more Autobot character development.

And where all the movies have failed, making a Megatron a ligament threat guy. He goes from being frozen in ice for most of the first movie to being the Fallen's lap dog in the second movie, to being "Sentinel Prime's Bitch" in the 3rd movie. He's quite literally the worst Megatron incarnation in the history of Transformers. His character sucks, his designs suck, everything about him is gawd awful. Oh and he's another reason why Hasbro will want a reboot. Optimus ripped his head off in the last movie. He's been resurrected once but if we've learned anything from the live action films it's that when Optimus Prime decapitates you, you stay dead!

Definitely agree that Spielberg can do a better job than Bay but am puzzled as in why Spielberg insist Bay to continue with the job?

Maybe Spielberg doesn't feel like devoting a couple years of his life to making a movie about fighting robots? Just throwing the possibility out there.

lol I doubt Hasbro is going to drag their feet on that.

They all want Bay because he is, in terms of effienciency at least, a very good director. He gets 12 hour or more days, keeps the entire cast and crew in line and doesn't cater to big stars and their demands, doesn't waste anything, and is very good at staying in the budget. In a world where some films can just totally fall apart during production, Bay keeps every thing together. He's very good at making film production, "Work".

It's funny how some of the best directors at doing their jobs, are kind of workaholic jerks.

You just described a good producer not a good director. So really Micheal Bay needs to get out of the director chair and just produce films. Let someone else handle the creative direction because the only thing he's good at is making everything run smoothly.

I think the reason Spielberg doesn't want to jump in the director's chair himself is because he's got so much going on. It seems like it's hard to find anything sci fi or World War related that Spielberg isn't a producer on. It's like he's using his pull in Hollywood to get projects off the ground and he can do more as the producer on lots and lots of things rather than having to put so much time into directing something like Transformers.

The thing that makes me scratch my head though is why Spielberg wants Bay instead of giving some up and coming director a chance? Micheal Bay isn't going to have much trouble finding more films to direct because he has his fan base that will watch whatever he directs. But there are some talented new directors out there who could really use a chance with a film that is going to draw a lot of attention.

I love transformers just as much as the next fan, but Bay didn't do anything bad in the TF3 as far as I am concerned. I am disappointed that Dino wasn't used enough.

Spielberg also said that fans would love Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull plus Shia LaBeouf was going to be great as a new character in the Indiana Jones mythology. Obviously even a genius Spielberg can be wrong on some accounts.

A lot of people don't like the movie because of the sudden change of genre.

Indiana Jones makes a sudden change from Fantasy to Sci-Fi in the last movie. This is really a rather small aspect of the movies though sense they're more focused on action and adventure.

I don't think I should really talk too much about this sense you said you haven't seen the original movies. But basically the haters hate because "Aliens have no place in Indiana Jones!"

Personally though I prefer the aliens. There's a reason for that but I suggest you watch the original movies before I tell you what that reason is. I've said all I can say without giving away spoilers.

Haha,as long as the franchise is successful as proven, Hasbro will not mind to continue to drag their feet just for the Transformers movie

Listen Speilberg said he didn't want to even do Indy 4, George Lucas did and convinced him to focus on the sci-fi B movies of the 50's.

Having seen Tintin yesterday i can say Peter Jackson is a much better partner for Speilberg to work with.

:lol  It's not like I went and saw it eight times or anything. *shifty eyes* ;)  (I only saw it once in theatres...)

But he ended up doing it anyway. People are allowed to change their minds. Much like how Bay was hesitant to direct Transformers, but he gave us an extremely financially successful trilogy.

    Agreed. Spielberg+Jackson=BEST. COMBO. EVER. :D
