at first i thought the same thing about the "skirt" but it covers a big hole where the legs come together, so sadly its necessary

 

Love Gigatron! The colors are superb!   Really like the headsculpt too! Man, can't wait to see the reveal of the other Botcon 2012 offerings! Very cool!  

 

Head is ok but choice for body.....would have preferred Tidal Waves body....Next

 

Oh how I wish they could use leader class figures... I mean seriously... look at the colors on this. Tell me that wouldn't work better than Bludgeon. If Josh already posted his colors on this thread before... my bad.

 

I hate to drag this out... But you realize that these things are profitable because fans WANT them, right? I mean, if we didn't want to buy them they wouldn't make FP money... Your argument is essentially, "Damn you FP, how dare you give us a bunch of things we want!"

For everyone out there bitching about this set... We've only seen one figure. And have a good idea about two more. That's not a whole set. And they're CLASSICS figs, so you KNOW this set will sell like hotcakes. And you know what that means? That means it's popular. I know there are a lot of very vocal SG haters in the house, but it's STILL one of FP's most popular sets. This will be too...

I find it more offensive that the resident Botcon representative has this attitude.

 

Well atleast they got the colours right. Other than that, This Bludgeon repaint doesn't say "Overlord" to me at all...

 

Now...this would've been a great choice for Overlord. Sadly as you stated, its a leader class.

 

Wow. Just wow. I agree, the Cybertron Megatron/Galvatron mold fits Overlord tons better than ROTF Bludgeon.

However I'm not knocking what FunPub did for Overlord, I mean Gigatron. In tank mode, the deco works really well. The same applies for robot mode; the color placement and new head definately calls to mind Overlord, it's just that Badass skeletal samurai =/= Badass brutish "gladiator". Now, if his bio made a reference to LSOTW's flaming skeletal Overlord then the use of Bludgeon totally works. Even better, is if the attendance freebie happens to be "Mega" his jet half.

 

I blame Mattel.

i don't think that Fun Pub has ever used a leader class before, and Cybertron Megatron is HUGE, the box set would have jumped probably 50 bucks if they used him at least, which lead me to think that the increase in price maybe due to TWO voyagers, maybe Strafe as Metalhawk

I don't like the choice of mold either, but, as others have said, this is only the first reveal. Perhaps the rest will be improvements. I don't think this one feel will make this set an immediate pass. Look, at first people complained about the "reversed universe" concept and look at how well the wound up being received, and the aftermarket value speaks for itself.

I am with those who don't like this first reveal, however we should sit back and give the rest of the set a chance to impress us.

 

at least theres still hope that they'll bring out Overlord in a more Masterforce style mold

i like the head. but i think that overlord as a character deserves more then a ROTF bludgeon body.
