Now that I've become a more picky collector this feels like a *pass* to me. I already have the mold as the best Bludgeon figure I expect to see...and while I like the headsculpt I just don't feel the need to have it...ditto for Soundwave, the MP3 player looks just fine on my shelves. I'm still getting the set, but I think it'll be case by case for what figures I'm keeping...

 

Yeah. I was crossing my fingers and hoping I'd be all over this but I'm with the 'dat mold is so bludgeon that I can't see it as anyone else camp

I can understand people not feeling the robot mode fits Overlord very well and breaking it down I agree. But, of all the available mould choices no other has the badass quality that Overlord needs. Silverbolt might have been a better part for part match up and the gun would have been far more appropriate, but I don't believe you can get that Overlord Swagger from it.

The head, the colours and the bodies attitude sells it as Overlord for me.

Cybertron megs is leader class so yeah it was always unlikely

On another note it must really suck being the Funpub crew when they read some of the comments on the interwebs, its got to be really disheartening, cut them some slack, its a convention exclusive.

After 6+ months in the hercules thread telling people to not judge the hard work of others I feel really bad saying how much I dislike this toy. but the more I read the thread the more it seems that a lack of interest is pretty prevelent.

Still it is getting SOME positive reviews. and the 30 or so people in this thread hardly comprimise the entire purchasing power of botcon figures. if nothing Else the Scalpers will still ensure FP makes thier money back and I'm happy with that.

Not at all. Pretty much par for the course. Reactions always improve with time and once people see in person, attitudes change. Been like this since toys first started debuting on the internet lol...

God dammit!   I was actually contemplating getting the set this year just for Overlord and SG Soundwave, but now...geez. This is epically disappointing.

Besides the headsculpt, the robot mode looks absolutely nothing like Overlord. And since the robot mode is what really counts for me, it looks like I'm going to have to pass on this.

I know you weren't addressing me here, but to me anything else that had been suggested for this toy would have been better. Anything else.

That is a great paint job they’ve given it

And they are both on a great toy.

Sadly it still totally fails as overlord/gigatron to me, so this set is now a pass.
