Fail. Please don't let another be a movie mold in this set.

Cybertron Metroplex would have been a better mold choice for overlord.

The colors look good. The new head sculpt looks good. I really like that mold, and it really works well for Bludgeon but looks horrible for Overlord. The mold is so obviously a samurai that it could only really work for Bludgeon and Banzaitron. I was honestly hoping they would go the all deluxe route and use the Straxus mold for Overlord. This thing is just pure awful.

Ya this set just became a pass for me. I will piecemeal the couple figures I think might be decent. The rest is on ebay.

ROTF Blugeon is a craptactular figure in and of itself. The botcon boys are trying to polish a turd here. Now we get a shiny white and blue turd with a great head sculpt and yet another pair of floppy flaccid swords.

I was really looking forward to this one....

Indeed, but it wasn't licensed for the movie, which is the clincher.

    Huh.

    At least it's a tank. I guess.

Head sculpt looks good, as do the colors. But nothing else about this screams Overlord to me. Not one of the best Botcon efforts.

I'm going to guess Metalhawk=Terradive or Mindwipe now that quasi-film/Classics middle ground molds are on the table.

I won't be at the con, so I'm glad he's not a must have personally, but I'd have bought him at retail. I think this one was done as more of a reason to use a nice Voyager mold than a desire to make the character.

I think it looks pretty slick even though it homages the original toy in an oblique way.

TFCC/Botcon are ambitious here and I think they deserve points for that. They did, however wade into a serious storm where:

    1. The fandom wars over the Bludgeon mold in the perpetual "IS IT CLASSICS OR IS IT MOVIE RAAAGE"
    2. The original toy, as many noted, is close to the heart of every fan.
    3. Tying it into SG universe is also the TFCC's "own property" but also increasingly alienating to fans.
    4. The clear limitations placed on what they can create.

On one hand, the mold screams Samurai and doesn't fit right. On the other other, It's fucking OVERLORD. Conflicted...

    -Like HTFD Terradive?

but yeah i think bludgeon (as much as its a rather decent mold) it does not fit overlord,Quake? maybe, heck they should done that, not only that it will give the whole "That it one crappy mold choice for Overlord" effect,it would work well as the "Berserker" of the group, nothing sounds more berserk than doing at it with firing rounds of tank turret blaster rounds, then putting a dagger in said turret barrel then fire the barrel at some unexpecting autobot/sg decepticon, piercing them and getting the sword and removing it from the victim just so he can go hacky-slashy and all that. THAT,and i want to see them use those pcc minicons being used, heck i would like to see some additional retooling rather then just the head to the mold they based it in.

but that's just me squaking about pointless things.

Well, this just turned off my expectations for the Botcon toys... Don't get me wrong, love the Bludgeon mold and it's got great engineering, but it just does not suit as a G1 toy, let alone for a character like Overlord/Gigatron.

    Hopefully this is going to be the only disappointment for the Botcon toys... Roll on Metalhawk, I guess. ^^;

I think this is just awful. that skeletal body just does not work for the character at all. It doesnt look like a different character, just a blue Bludgeon with a different head. The mold is just too damn distinctive.

Passing on this set now. Overlord was the make it or break it toy for me, and I wouldn't even pay five dollars for that thing.

    Overlord deserves better than this.

Precisely why Overlord shouldn't have been attempted at all. This is exactly the reaction I was expecting.

And this of all molds? It didn't even work as Banzai-Tron.
