I like the design. The final version with the other half of the paint apps should be great.

Look at where the knee joints are in the pictures of the plane mode. He actually does have ball joints there, but there's no cutout, so they're effectively reduced movement wise to about two or three degrees. There's no conjecture here...

The pointlessly gimped knees are dumb as hell.

Utterly fugly UGLY!! That's what it seems to me..Perhaps it was the case of having him mistransformed (the wings) but I'll seriously open my wallet & put my $$$ if they were to come out with the Stormbringer ver. instead. I know I'll be drunk with that! :drunk

The knees have most likely been restricted because of the weight of the diecast and the stress on the joints. I'll get the toy in hand before I decide the restriction is "pointless." Articulation is for sissy ballet dancers, not robot warriors from a metal planet.

And knee articulation is useless on a toy that collapses under his own weight. Right, Megabolt?

We still don't know how much of Jetfire is diecast, and thus how heavy he is. We'll get a better idea when Prime and Megatron are released. Hard to say how much weight a knee joint can take without collapsing. Remember how floppy Go-Bots got over time? Or how G1 Shockwave collapses under his own weight? Wouldn't that really suck on a brand new toy?

I've seen better, but I've also seen much, much worse.
