Opened my megs up today and when I transformed him I accidentally pulled off the black grill thing and when I put it back in I got some bad stress marks. :(  Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, same here for the stress marks.

Anyway, this figure is great, but without the hood it's just plain ugly. Megatron shouldn't be so skinny, and his head is waaaayyy too small. Megatron is supposed to have a hell of a heavy and massive head.

I don't think his head or torso shrunk...it's rather his legs and arms which 'grew' longer and bigger due to the fact he consists of both the cab & trailer.

The mold is still fantastic imo... the only complaint for me would be the way the arm articulation has been compromised because of the way the shoulders work ; it doesn't hinge at the top of the upper arm...the shoulder/clavicle needs to be lifted to get that outward angle.

I learned at Wal-mart that for every 50 Optimus Primes there is one Megatron, 7 Skyhammers,5 Shockwaves and 1 Ironhide, But seriously awesome figure just hard to find him where I'm at

The black grill being so tight to transform is the only problem I had with this figure. I don't have any stressmarks on mine, but as FUUUUUU inducing as it was, it probably would've developed them eventually.

It's an easy thing to fix, though!

Just snip off the tab on the black kibble piece on Megatron's right shoulder.

The tab isn't needed in alt mode, as grill holds together fine, and it makes transformation easier because the grill isn't getting stressed to the point of the kibble pieces coming off.

    Hope that helps!

That black tab used to be a problem for me, but then eventually I found that wasn't the main cause of the problem.

The real trick to transforming him is to unlocking the front bumper first. It clips into place in this peculiar way that, while it doesn't seem to snap in place all the securely when you go into truck mode, trying to do anything (including splitting the black guard piece) to separate the shoulders going back to robot mode with the bumper in place is virtually impossible.

So, if I pull the bumper down first, I really don't have any problems splitting the black guard anymore.

does anyone else have grill pieces that look to be 2 different finishes? the right side of mine is very glossy whereas the left side is very flat. kind of distracting, and a loose right hip and stress marks on the hood that were already there make this figure more than slightly disappointing for me.

I don't know why it took me sooooooooo long to think of posting in this thread, but I guess late is in fact better than never. So here's the few things I did to my DOTM Megs...

First, I grabbed a Gundam gatling gun, be cause if there's one thing that Megs needs is a BIGASS gun mounted on his arm.

I pretty much hated his MechTech, so now it's just a backpack.

Next up, I cut a small hole in his hood so his light piping could still shine even with his cowl on.

The light piping was never really impressive on this fig to begin with, but since I leave the hood on at all times, I figured it was a wasted element if I didn't cut a hole in the back.

Finally, I found an ammo chain that fit the look of the minigun.

I think it's a pretty nice finishing touch.

Although the gun sizes pretty well in bot mode (and pegs into the holes on Megs' arm perfectly), its way too big for alt mode...

...but I still think it looks pretty cool.

Great idea, I might have to give it a try...
I bought a chain necklace at Walmart and wrapped it around him. Eventually I'll paint him...

This toy looks great with the deluxe Prime and his trailer. Especially after the minor paint job I did on both of them :D
