Telling his grandfather story may make the bots feel more proud to be an Autobot  

 

I'd just love for there to be an hour of him and Roadbuster sitting there talking randomly in the middle of the movie, like the pointless Sam-to-college subplot in ROTF.

 

after years being with team prime, jetfire might start to act like cup and call prime or the others "young bots". he might also be wiser and tell optimus to watch his back since he was a decepticon at one point

 

  Oh my gosh, why have I never imagined this before? The interactions between those two characters would be so cool! Both fighting, and calmly just speaking to each other.

 

That will be the best partnership ever happen for the Autobots in the movie but too bad both Jetfire & Ironhide have died

 

What if Jetfire met Brains and Wheelie!

 

Would have been neat to see Jetfire VS Sentinel. Two bots that switched sides against each other. Or even Jetfire vs Starscream.

he did meet Wheelie,Brains joined in somewhere between ROTF and DOTM.

if Jazz didnt die as well and both Jetfire and him appeared in DOTM,it would like WTF.
seriously,why did Bay kill off Autobots that have unique personalities and give screentime to stupid humans and their insignificant issues.?

My lame sense of humour just imagined a scene where Jetfire walks up to Sentinel.

Jetfire: "The great Sentinel Prime! You are alive, after all of these years!"
Sentinel: "A bit rusty, but still functional, Jetfire."
Jetfire: "So I guess you could say that you're...past your Prime, eh? Eh?" *old man laugh* *nudges elbows* *awkwardly looks around*
Ironhide: *grunts in indifference*

If Jetfire wouldn't of died, the fallen wouldve won and dotm would be how megatron taking over the fallen

 

Fallen & Megatron will be fighting for whom shall lead the Decepticons in DOTM

 

If Jetfire didn't die, the solar harvester would have blown up the sun and we'd all be dead. The dude's almost as hardcore as BEAST WARS Dinobot.

Had he made an appearance in DOTM, I think he'd have been the Autobot Aerial Commander; he'd have assisted the Ospreys transporting troops to Chicago, and I imagine him going up against the Driller and killing it... then he gets blown out of the sky, or he combines with Optimus Prime again. The rest of the time at NEST he'd do what most old men do: have a nice quiet nap in some corner, away from anyone disturbing him.

 

I felt they could have given him a tad more depth on his Decepticon back story, but he was a good character, nonetheless.

 

Then Earth would be screwed. 'Nuff said.

 

In terms of him being too old and creaky to have survived through DotM, I suppose it depends how he appears in the film. I'm thinking less of the exact same Jetfire from RotF and more that the spark he pulled from his chest survived and his body was rebuilt using some of his old parts but also a lot of new ones from spares that littered the battlefield after RotF. That way Jetfire can still be a bit old at his core and complain like a pensioner, but also he'd be somewhat restored to health due to a complete rebuild, tune-up and new parts. It'd be like Kup from IDW. He got a new strong body but he's still the old fart with the war stories.
And a new body would also mean a new alt mode so the Blackbird not fitting in with NEST wouldn't be a problem since he'd turn into something else this time. And it would mean new toys for Hasbro to make with an established Bay character and name.

Of course it depends how much time would've needed to be devoted to explaining all that and this is a Bay movie after all. I suppose just a few lines of Jetfire thanking Optimus for recovering his spark at the RotF battle and having Que rebuild him from the protoform wrecks would be enough to get the point across.

 

Here's how I would bring Jetfire back for DOTM:

Given his advanced age, his spark would have been strong enough to survive long after being ripped from his chest and be recovered by Ratchet in the aftermath of the battle in Egypt.

In an underground bunker, Ratchet and Que would set up a lab where he constructs a new body for Jetfire. One that is similar to his old body, yet made of stronger materials and more advanced hardware.

Once his new body is complete, Ratchet and Que integrates his Jetfire's spark into his new body.

The infusion of his spark into his new body results in his spark being unusually and unexpectedly rejuvinated.

Making Jetfire younger and more powerful than ever before!

How does that sound?
