I was very disappointed with the mold choice TFCC are using for these two characters and wanted to do something different. While walking through the toy area in Seoul I found a two pack of transforming robots that I thought would be a good attempt. I know they don't look the same but I kinda like that. The only thing I want to change about them are the heads, they need the right heads. Any help fellow radicons can give me on that would be great. Anyways, here are the two cars I'm turning into the Battlechargers. Luckily one was already white so the choice of who would be who was solved. They are large Deluxe sized (a little bit taller than RtS Tracks). I have done a large portion of the job on Runabout and he should be up soon.
Hate to explode your bubble.....but those look NOTHING like the Battlechargers. What is wrong with the Wheeljack/Tracks mold? It's short....easy to transform.....Car front feet...But if you want to do this project.....you can do it.
I don't like the tfcc ones because I already have two of that mold. These will be unique, and yours so good on you man, can't wait to see more.
I actually like both of those molds. But for something else I have in mind. Would you be willing to pick up another set for me? I'll pay cost plus shipping if that's cool.
I like em a lot!! well you prolly b better of with 2 of the above mold, the 2nd reminds me of that brawn repaint en could work for skids! yeah I can think of lots of more bots I can change them into... sadly I'm in Holland so these are prolly nowhere 2b found... any idea how I could still get a few?? Hey it's the Kia licensed "transformers" I got a set of these a few months back off of ebay. They're indeed slightly bigger than a deluxe. They've even got a CG cartoon!
I don't like the fact they are obviously a Tracks/Wheeljack repaint or the fact they have wings. Also, Classicverse Galvatron, Skullgrin, Perceptor, Blaster and Blades would like a word. Thanks, I'm looking forward to how they turn out. They are fairly common here in Korea, I'll PM you. Yeah... I said they are large Deluxe sized. Taller than RtS Tracks but shorter than Cyclonus. I'm not seeing Brawn but I can definitly see Skids in this. They aren't all that expensive, I'll PM you. I assume you are right. They have Kia badges on them and the artwork on the box are of CG models so you maybe right. As an update, here is a quick look at Runabout. It needs robot mode work and cleaning up but so far, I'm happy. I even solved the problem with the heads. I forgot about the terrible mold for Cybertron Runabout, which has the same look head. If you have it in your collection, you probably forgot about it too. I would have never considered it for my collection but I was forced to buy it to get the vastly superior Longrack in the 2 pack. Guess I will have to go buy another set (I can put the second Longrack with my Dawn of Futures Past set).
I kinda understand the feeling about having yet 2 more of the same mold again as the battlechargers... but ultimately if your going to have 6+ of the same mold used for a fleet of seekers then having a couple more of the same car mold doesn't seem that bad to me. Plus neither of these toys say Runabout or Runamuck to me. The white one looks like a constipated generic and the blue one looks like a bizarre fembot.
Wouldn't have been my first choice of mold, that being said though but its not my custom. That being said, that car looks good in those colours. Your pant seems a little thick though, I would suggest maybe use thinner coats and give it a light sanding to help even it out a bit.
They are getting new heads(if that helps)....and the wings.....you can fold them down. And I don't get why Galvatron,Skullgrin,Perceptor,Blaster and Blades need to talk with me.
