Your dad is one guy. And a guy. That has a big effect on your single-case rebuttal of the argument.

Liege Maximo is by far the most poorly named Decepticon ever... anyone who suggested use of this name to a hollywood screenwriter would be laughed at. The character however could work well. Straxus isn't a horrible name but not great for the leader of the 'Cons. Jihaxus?!? Really?

Here's some fan-produced more G1 style CG animation.

    Transformers - YouTube

I wouldn't mind seeing something more like this. I've always thought it makes the idea and the toys more fun for kids if they can see in Transformers exactly how one thing becomes another.

Dude, come on. Classics/Universe G1 designs would be bitching and you know it.

While I do think making cube-bots for a feature film is a bad idea, I would like the designs to take a small step in that direction. Some of the robot designs in the most recent film (especially the Dreads) just looked way too insect-like in robot form.

    Blockformers? No thank you.....

The whole reason i stayed away from transformers when i was younger was because i thought the blocky designs looked terribly corny and silly. ofcourse i have a respect for the designs now but honestly they belong in cartoon's and comics. I don't think people would take transformers seriously if we had a Blockformers film.

    Very true. However...

    A. Not everyone who makes this complaint wants everything to be just like G1,

    and

    B. We've had three movies that have featured the Transformers as supporting characters IN THEIR OWN FILMS while humans hogged a large percentage of the screentime. It's totally understandable to be a bit sick of humans in the films at this point.

Yup, I want to see one of the Transformers as the central character of the film. No more of this "Sam gets his first car", "Sam goes to college", "Sam tries to find a job" main plot.

A good example of a film where the main character is a purely CG creation is Rise of the Apes. James Franco is not the main character of that film. John Lithgow is not the main character of the film; Caesar is. I'd even be interested to see a new character (not Bumblebee) whose acting is portrayed by some Andy Serkis type via performance capture.

What I would really love is to see the Transformers portrayed like a unit, similar to how they did it in Predator or Aliens.

I'd rather a 4th movie than a reboot its WAY too soon for that

But to be honest I would really love to have a prequel movie all on Cybertron
