I don't want him to return I'm tired of the Autobots being unstoppable and Decepticon groups getting killed by one single Autobot in 30 seconds.

Count me in. Never wanted him on board anymore since I finished watching the first film.

There's been so many threads about this subject I've honestly lost count. I feel like it's 2007 where everybody posted the same subject like ten times and apparently the search function didn't exist.

For all you know they could replace Bay with another director and he or she could turn in a steaming pile of turd. Sometimes it's better the devil you know. I for one am more than happy with what he has produced so far.

Yeah, I'd rather seem something different. Hopefully if Shia stays away it might be.

Also kind of pissed at how Bay handled Arcee. And since the writers for ROTF are now on Prime, which has the best Arcee to date, it was clearly Bay, who mentioned repeatedly that he hated the character, and gleefully bragged that he killed her and the fans should cry about it, who was the problem.

It's not so much about WHO'S directing it for me, but more about WHEN. I think Bay is fit to do them, but the dude needs a break. I thought he handled TF1 really well, with actual depth to the characters, but I think the sacks of money have gone to his head. ROTF and DOTM felt really rushed and I feel he only did it for the money, there was no soul like there was for TF1.

I really wish they'd go a different direction this one, if only so someone else could put their own spin on the franchise. There are a lot of people who seem to believe that Bay is the only man capable of directing a live-action Transformers. I'm not in that camp.

Something I remember about the first Transformers movie in 2007 is that Bay was vocal about his concern of making a "cartoon" movie. He was really worried about striking a proper tone for the film, and took a lot of advice from Spielberg and the producers on how to achieve something that wouldn't be stupid. Once the film hit big at the box office, it seemed like Bay's ego exploded, and he went from "Hey Steve, what would you do?" to "Ah, hell naw! I'm Michael MF-ing Bay! I don't want an actress. I want a Victoria's Secret model!" The sequels felt really immature and less concerned with story when compared to the 2007 film.

Also, if Bay does come back, he should lessen his involvement on the story and the editing. Two of my biggest peeves on the sequels:A) there were far too many "Nuke the fridge" eye-rolling moments that the audience couldn't attach themselves to B) The Editing/Pacing in the sequels is a full-on mess. The last hour of DOTM comes to mind: Optimus has just killed Shockwave's worm. He swoops up and perches atop a half-built skyscraper, and Starscream fires ONE missile at him. Optimus falls into a mess of cables, and gets stuck for the next half hour. The movie has just given us this huge expectation of what OP can do - slice a robot sandworm in half with his bare hands, but he's beaten by some ropes.... It's just very tonally awkward. He can overcome this unbeatable monster-obstacle, but not some 2-inch rebar.

Count me in as a person who enjoys the movies, but is tired of Bay's version. He did a good job starting things off... now pass the baton and lets see what someone else can do.

If that's the case why waste time and post space stepping in here? Go back to a thread where a topic you're interested in appears.

You and me both; any other director is fine. Hell, I'll even include Brett Ratner in that list.

Count me as one of the people that don't want directing the fourth film. I would much rather have someone else take a shot at the franchise and breath some new life into it. Nevertheless, I'll still probably see TF4; just to see if Bay can actually improve.

Very well said. The humor and Continuity in the last two films are flat out annoying. Personally i enjoy Bays films, just not the last two transformers. I would of also liked a new director so we could have a "fresh start" if you will.
I hope Shia labouf does NOT return!!!
