Well Optimus was always overpowered. Even in G1 he pretty much beat down anyone who wasn't Megatron or a combiner whenever they came his way.

 

I dunno - Laserbeak owned Optimus a few times in the cartoon.  

 

That happened once. In the episode with the Prime copy. The episode where practically everyone acts much stupider than they really are. That's really not a good example.

Perceptor one shotted Devastator once too. Sometimes G1 had stupid moments.

 

There is only one important planet in the universe, Cybertron. Who won the war, and took over that planet? 'Cons. Nuff said.

 

THIS. Honestly, besides being disapointed at quick deaths and such, I wasnt really bothered by how the Decepticons were in the films

I'm a huge Decepticon fan and they seemed compotent in the first movie but afterwards they were all beaten in 2 seconds for each Decepticon. If we're talking compotency, then the Autobots win from ROTF to DOTM but for appeal, Decepticons are almost always better for me.

 

How could anyone say that the movie Decepticons could ever have a chance at victory.

 

Yeah. The Cons get all the lame combiners... Piranacon, Predacon, Bruticus, Devastator, Menasor...pfft! What a bunch of wimps!  

 

i love the bots. but the cons are better fighters. the bots are better thinkers.

 

I'm a Decepticon fan (that doesn't mean I hate the Autobots), but to be honest, the Autobots seemed stronger than the Decepticons from ROTF to DOTM. Maybe it's just because they got Optimus Prime, but if any Decepticon was as good as Optimus Prime, I bet they would have won in the 3 movies without a problem. That's all they needed, cuz they already had: better weapons, a whole army complete with ships, a Combiner, a somehow-so-frickin-powerful ancient Prime, Shockwave and the Driller. If it wasn't a movie where the good guys always have to win, the Decepticons would have definitely won, as they had every opportunity, but since it's a movie the good guys always find a way to win. So in theory, the Decepticons are more powerful than the Autobots, it's just that the Autobots have Optimus Prime and the good guys always win. :\

In a fight, the Autobots because these movies make Optimus Prime an overpowered mofo.

Character wise, Decepticons. At least the ones that aren't drones. Sentinel Prime included even though he's not technically a Decepticon. All the Autobots are just typical "cool badasses" that any 12 year old would like.

I always find the Decepticons more interesting in almost every series because they usually have different motivations, conflicts, and goals. Meanwhile the Autobots are just all "WE MUST PROTECT EVERYTHING AND WORK TOGETHER"

 

I agree. The only time Optimus was actually challenged was in the first movie when he was fighting Megatron. Even though he got killed in ROTF, that doesn't really count. Megatron attacked Optimus from behind, but Optimus was still owning Megatron big time. Actually, he just OWNED in the forest battle. He even mercilessly killed Grindor, that was a sign to what we should have expected in DOTM. And I think it's just not fair, cuz the Decepticons will never get a time to shine. Any real Decepticon threat that comes to Earth, Optimus just kills easily and it ends there. That exactly happened with Shockwave and the Driller. So either they tune down Optimus' power, or we know who will win in the next movies. -___-

 

I like Autobots and Decepticons equally. But the movie Autobots are way too overpowered. I mean, Optimus killed the Fallen and Shockwave so easily, way too easily. I also hate movie Bumblebee after ROTF, I liked him in movie 1. Every awesome decepticon died so easily and dissapointingly.

 

the fact that bumblebee took out soundwave is proof it "has to be written that way",I mean c'mon!
