    This.

    And this.

Please, don't bring up that "true fan" bullshit. So what people don't like the fucking movies, they're entitled to their own opinion.

But why do people even care what critics think.

^Because most critics know what a good movie is, so people trust them to tell them which movies they should be spending their hard earned money on.

There's a difference between mindless robot ass kicking and WELL WRITTEN Robot ass kicking.

For example: Real Steel. Yeah, the robot fights aren't as overly spectacular as giant transforming alien robots beating the crap out of each other, but they're still very entertaining and the parts without robots are actually really good, unlike ROTF where a number of human-only scenes are frankly boring at best.
Please...all you have to do is avoid the movie forums to avoid all the movie talk.

Also, the "true fan" argument is essentially instant invalidation, because there is NO set standard for defining the "true fan".

Critics don't believe you should judge a movie for yourself. Which is what you should do.

I vote reboot. Every other TF media does it semi-regularly; we're used to it, whether or not we like it, and I'd love to see some other creators versions of it.

Yes they do. They give you their take on the movie and then it is up to you to decide whether you agree with them or not.

    EDIT:
I seriously doubt you'd ever find somebody that loves EVERYTHING, especially when this franchise has things like Kiss Players associated with it.

Ah whatever. Movie haters are an embarrassment to the whole TF franchise. I'm done with this site.

Wow, just wow. Really, people that have their own opinion and expect more from a Transformers movie then just :bay  are an embarrassment to the WHOLE franchise? So, you're obviously ok with Kiss Players then? Oh, and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

When film franchises run out of good places to go we end up with things like Jurassic Park 3, Indiana Jones 4, The Mummy 3, any Aliens or Terminator movie after the second one, Batman and Robin, or even the dreaded Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. Dark of the Moon seemed like a pretty good place to end the films as they currently are and not exactly the best options of where to go with a direct sequel.

Kind of feels like the films are getting a bit formulaic with Decepticons need some almost magical McGuffin and a nearly unstoppable Prime and Bumblebee will easily beat the Decepticons with the help of NEST. There needs to be some big shake up so it doesn't feel like just more of the same.

Plus looking at the domestic box office Revenge of the Fallen made $402,111,870 while even with the extra from 3D the domestic box office for Dark of the Moon was $352,390,543 so maybe I'm not the only one feeling that been there done that from the franchise.

Just don't want to see the franchise get ran into the ground like the Star Trek films because then it takes a while for Hollywood to give you another chance even with a big shake up or reboot.

cosmos360: Don't know what you expected from a thread with this title.
For the record, I liked TF3 an awful lot.

:wtf:  Now I'm embarrassed to be a movie lover.

Anyway, I'm all for a reboot, but with the money DOTM made, I don't think that's possible in the near (possibly apocalyptic) future.

And coincidentally, all of the examples you give -- except for Indy 4 -- are the result of the director who made the series popular giving up the reins to someone else. Hmmm.

I'll sign this, sure there was some sort of improvement on the last movie, but I feel like there could be better execution and exploration with the concept of a transformers movie. Is it possible to just have sequels to this series and a separate series of movies?

Which was also an awful movie. In some ways, just as bad as Batman & Robin.
