So we all know that bad paint applications can completely or severely ruin a toy. However, has anyone had a toy were a misapplied paint app made the toy better, worth getting again, or just cooler? For example, the RTS Lugnut I recently got had some misapplied paint on his eye, which made his head look like it had been shot up, so he had carbon-scoring. Really cool mistake in my opinion.
Well my rules for bad paint are this: if it's a scratch or a chip I just pretend it's a battle scar. If its if a missing or crooked paint app for a noticible area like a headlight it goes back to the store
Mentioned it in a thread before, but my Generations Thundercracker is missing the silver paint on his face, and the black paint around his eyes is just a big blotch. Ends up giving him a blue face with a domino mask-like pattern, both of which make his red eyes stand out more. Very cool.
my movie #1 starscream has 2 different kinds of decepticon logos (cartoon logo and new movie) and i looked it up and i don't think its suppost to be like that so its really cool in my opinion
My RotF Bludgeon has a paint scratch below his right eye, and normally that would irk me, but for some reason, I really like it. Adds to that whole "samurai" motif.
Just had to wait until I got home. The red on his eyes is flawless, despite what the photo may suggest.
My Drivetrain has half of his face painted black.....but because of his lack of bio.....I like to think his is the Mini-con Two-Face.
generation g2 prime on his sword theres is silver on the orenge part on the top! i cant stand it but i might paint it all siver Lol!
Not sure if this counts, but some of the worn chrome on my older G1/G2 figures makes em look a lot more realistic in pretty much all cases.
This. Initial in-package photos looked like this so... I was going to pass on it until later pics had the black head. As for the Huffer, I have the version with the dark orange good. Didn't know it was a variant. I like the darker hook much better.
