Episode 2 should be out sometime next year.

But yeah, I liked Sonic 4; the Sonic fanbase can be unreasonable, it was still a fun game. I also happened to enjoy the Boktai series, even though NOBODY PLAYED IT, and we'll never get another entry. :cry

See, I really loved FFX. I feel one of the main things that can hurt an FF game is the combat system, and as for FF13, it mixed things up in all the wrong ways IMO. I don't hate the game, but I really don't want the series to continue limiting your levels based on how far you are in the game (that seems like a really weak way to make the battles play out exactly as the designers intended), making the battles more twitch based (if you sit and think in FF13, you're already dead), and limiting in battle controls to one character. FFX and FFX-2 both had really fun combat systems which felt really totally the opposite if FF13. I had other issues with FF13 but again I didn't hate the game, I just don't want it's battle system to continue being used in future installments. I've heard people really praise the battle system for some reason, and that's what worries me.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I and II- I love how epic these games feel. To sum up just how awesome the main character is, I would say that it's like making Superman a Jedi. The story is also mind-blowing. It made me care about every character in the game and it also showed how the Rebel Alliance began. If the first game was a movie (which it should be) I'd rank it first or second in the Star Wars saga. The 2nd one's plot isn't as good as the first, but it's still good by video game standards and it even fixes some of the gameplay problems.

See, I always play the games on "Active Time" mode, so waiting around was never an option. And since XIII is faster, it's only fitting that you get your ass kicked faster, too.

And with the way the battle system worked, it would've been an absolute pain in the ass to have to control all three party members. And practically rendered Sentinel useless.

I would say you could still think more and strategize with older FF games using ATB. But beyond that you are right, it would be pain to control all three characters within that setup... which is another reason I don't like that setup. If they want it to be Kingdom Hearts, where you control one character in a party with faster combat, I say great, but make it real time and don't make it a main FF game. Older FF games, I felt, did really great with making the battles contain some strategy but not making it too drawn out within the framework of menu based combat. FF Tactics kinda leaned towards being too drawn out, and I think FF13 made it too hectic, going in the other direction. Heck, I would kill to see more of FF12's combat system, where you could take control of anyone at anytime but the other characters still performed tasks when you weren't controlling them.

Yeah, I really disliked how it capped your character growth. When I played it for the first time I remember getting to the point where you fight the Odin Eidolon with Lightning and Hope and I just got my ass whooped. Reloaded my save, went grinding and maxed out Light and Hope as far as it allowed, and I still had a hard ass time against Odin(mostly cuz the prick just kept targetting weak ass Hope). Capping you like that just made some things harder than they should've been.

I actually liked the combat system well enough. Though I will ALWAYS prefer standard turn-based over anything else. Just seems like Square is trying to go a different direction with the FF series since XIII and is trying to make them seem more like action games and less like RPGs. Don't try and fix what wasn't broken I say. But as for XIII, they should've ditched the whole Stagger system. That is what made battles so damned stupid at times and making them much longer than they needed to be. I still say Square should've released a small patch for XIII with a global Stagger point reduction.

Yeah, the way it seemed to work with FF13 was that they shoe horned you into doing exactly what they wanted you to do with only the illusion of choice. If you strayed from their preset plan, you died. I do understand and appreciate SE trying new things with the FF series, which is why I don't really hate FF13. I think it was innovative, but I also think it didn't work, at least for my own enjoyment. I just hope that in future installments they do something else and don't stick with this system. I will still give FF13-2 a chance though.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Fuck Angry Joe, BlackBusterCritic and any other anti-Capcom band-wagon hopper says about it, this game is worth the $40 IMO.

The new AVP game was decent and it got torn apart by critics. I thought it was really neat and it had 3 different campaigns. The marine campaign is a survival horror game, the Predator campaign was an action game, the alien campaign was so unique that I can't compare it to anything else. The alien campaign was pretty weak, but the game was solid overall. Is it the best game ever? No. Does it deserve all the hate and criticism it gets? No. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give AVP an 8 out of 10.

    X-Men The Official Game.

I guess I liked the "leveling" system.

I'm the only person in my school who likes the uncharted series. My school full of cod playing idiots.

Also put me down for sonic 4. I played the crap out of that game. 100% it and had over 600 lives.

War of monsters on ps2 it my fav fighting game. Most people think it a godzilla ko.

Toss Devil May Cry 4 on my list.

There's something supernatural going on in that school. I advise that you run. Far.

Been meaning to try that game out.

Thanks to Mega Man Battle Network 5, I decided to try out Boktai 2 and enjoyed it quite a bit. Didn't really like the sun thing, though. I mean, it was a very cool idea, but it was flawed. If I was in enough sunlight, I couldn't see the screen so I had to strategically place myself so that the sun was on the sensor only. Was a pain since I played on an SP (thank god I had a blacklight :lol ). Really want to try that DS game, though.

Anyway, I really liked Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects, specifically the GCN version. Not sure if this game is "hated" or not, but I could see why it could be since the game was really unbalanced *cough*IronManownedall*cough*.

Is that to say all COD players are idiots, or just that group? :(

Speaking of COD, the game, not the fish.

I really did enjoy World At War. A lot of guys Im around didnt like that one cause OMG its Double-Ya, Double-Ya, Two! Frankly I like WW2 combat and welcome its theme, and the guns featured in it were mighty fun and actually had kick to them! Really... Compare W@W weapons to Modern Warfare guns, they feel vastly different. The FG42 is such a blast too, such a pleasure shooting that gun!

The multiplayer maps are waaay better too, decent sizes, multiple routes to take, most buildings were accessible, not being mysteriously locked.

And I'm not even talking about Nazi Zombies! Im actually one of those guys who don't really like that game mode.

Mamana Iyar Chronical. I love this game but I do have to be in the right mood to play it. I enjoy it but there are no dungeon maps so I have to draw one since the dungeons are very confusing which is why I have to be in the right mood to play it. It's by no means the best game in the world and the lack of music does disappoint me but I just really enjoy playing it.

I think the reason people don't like it is the lack of dungeons maps and the lack of difficulty. The combat system is also kind of stiff and the AI is even worse than in Tales of Eternia. Also that it's short. I think my playthrough will only take 20 hours.

I think the main reason I enjoy it is the confusing dungeons and the characters. Melrose is hilariously crazy. I also like what little music is in the game. I also like the voicecast. JYB as Crais, Wendee Lee as Tinon, and I wish I knew who voiced Melrose she did a great job.The CD that came with it had hilarious answering machine messages on it recorded by the voicecast and done in character.

Also Enchanted Arms. Maybe "hate" is a bit too much since it does have a 7/10 average and does get some praise. I've played through it twice and I have the urge to play again. The beginning is super slow but it really picks up after that. The battle system is strategic...sort of. I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. It's cool and you actually have to do some thinking. It's still easy though with the exception of a couple bosses. I really enjoy being able to build my own party. The first golem I got was in my team until passed the halfway point. Pretty good if you ask me.

I got it with my PS3 so I never played the 360 version which was a little different.

Too Human. Seriously i love that game. I can see the flaws but the game just appeals to me with its loot and norse style, and while combat is pretty basic its still fun to play.

The entire King's Field series. Vastly under-appreciated, very atmospheric RPGs. The feeling of solitude and hopelessness in them is great.

It's nice to see everyone finally realizing that From Software makes some damn good RPGs now with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls.

Tons of love for the console RPG Maker series too, which often gets ignored in favor of the PC games.
