UPDATE: 4/27 - All new reformatted Jetwing pack. I thought the previous one looked too classics like. Anyway, it's removable and each wing is articulated. The bottom wings are on ball joints.

UPDATE: 01/09/2012 - Added articulated hands with articulated wrists and fingers! - Added shoulder pads, filter cans, and side body armor. Swapped out feet tires for proper ones. Also, recessed backplate which used to be past Optimus's neck...





UPDATE: 12/02 - Added forearm armor and leg armor and inner foot extra pieces. Pics include Prime without Jetwings, with Jetwings, and fully armored up with Jetwings. Hip Tires temp. removed but will be back on later. Still more work to do!






UPDATE: 11/30 - Installed LEDs into Thrusters and LED seen on wing will be swapped for a blue LED for Prime's head, also added leg armor to Optimus...

UPDATE: NEW PICS: - Added Removable Waist with Body Armor at the sides. Also, put top wings on hinges to make them able to fold down. Bottom wings can move forward and back slightly as well.

LEDs in head
LEDs in jetting pack with Sound Effects and Voice
Custom built removable jet wing pack - Upper wings can fold down, lower wings can move forward and back about 1/4" - both wing sets on hinges.
Added full leg armor and inner foot pieces for better accuracy of movie
Removable waist and side body armor
Head on a ball joint
Modified LB weapons - will add more parts and cables...
tires added to Prime's thighs
Removed inner foot tires, replaced with more movie accurate stuff
Cut forearm panels to fit -- CHANGE of PLANS: Added Forearm Armor Instead
Removed side panels under arms to reveal windows, mirrors, and flames
Added bigger armor shoulder pads
Added air filter cans on shoulders
Added flank armor plates
Added movie accurate frames triangular pieces at sides of neck

Wow very cool concept, I would suggest extending the wings a bit and add the big barrels or turbines on his back to make him more imposing, really exited to see him once done!

Very nice indeed. I still feel the deluxe OP is way better than the Voyager in the DOTM line. Deluxe OP will be great when he gets his trailer version release. Hope you can do a great custom with that one when its out.

In my last custom deluxe Optimus, several guys mentioned them didn't like the deluxe version for this Optimus until I painted him, which they like after. I just went off that for my title for this WIP version.

Very neat to see the Classics Jetfire parts used with a DOTM Optimus. I assume the Photoshop effects are because this is still a work in progress?

 

I dont think he sucks but you definetly made him look better.

you win today! neat upgrade overall. A mini-tutorial on how you assembled the jetpack would be ace. Id like to buy a Deluxe Dotm Prime for that.

I'll definitely give a tutorial on the jetpack...it was pretty easy and very little mod work actually - I'll do it when I get the time but before this one is done.
