Dude, you did the right thing at the time. I do think you have every right to at least tell him how you feel. Hopefully, you can still be friends with this guy on some level, but just don't trust him with things such as this again.

I've been in very similar situations, and I have been able to make and keep the peace, but I don't put myself in a situation where it burns me with the same people again. Relationships operate on risks sometimes, which is why the good ones pay off and the bad ones sting.

 

THanks to all of you and your words, I have decided this is a lesson learned,
I feel no animosity towards him, just dissapointment that the kids wont have some super cool figures to play with. I have written him off as a friend, but oh well, it feels better than wanting to bash his skull in.

dude it sucks but ur heart was in the right place..i know its cliche but you can lay ur head down at night knowing in ur heart u did a good deed and had good intentions..cant say the same for ur friend..in the end he will answer for his sins and lies....its not ur fault some M***A*****R took advantage of u..consider it a lesson learned.. not many people would go so far out of his way to make others happy..ur a good dude in my book and sorry he took u for a ride..

 

yeah totally sucks, beside knowing the true color of your so called friend, i guess we can all learn to stock up on discounted transformers when they're available, even if you don't want them yourself you can still hand them out to friends/relatives' kids. sure they might be a year or two off the air, but they're still new and mostly good toys, certainly beat the dollar stores craps, and what's more, these discounted toys generally have very low resell value so you don't have to worry about the parents selling them on ebay.
