When the writing, was good for Marvel Transformers G1; we endorsed it -- When it was bad we called them on it. We never stopped reading, or buying because we were loyal fans; and that will be true of the resumed Transformers G1 Series that starts with a 20 Part Story Arc. Now weather anymore issues will happen is dependant upon us buying and being vocal about our support here and at IDW Forums so the Company sees we are commited to investing in more Marvel G1 Transformer Stories. Look at the bright side at least we are getting to have at least a Generation 1 Comic be resumed at all I know we'll never see anything from DW resumed but at least the 1st Transformer Series is being continued and thats all that matters.

I hope Ratchet pulls Megatrons pants down and throws a pie in Megatrons face.
    Marvel Ratchet FTW!

Just reading the update fromWildman sends a tingle down my spine. The thought of revisiting what was, for me, the definitive TF continuity is just too epic for words. I never liked G2, so I can happily erase it from my memory now :)

Anyone who wants to catch up with Marvel G1 needs to pick up the IDW TPB set.

But what if we want to spend exuberant (or dare I say... exorbitant) amounts of cash on G1 Bricks... Exuberantly!?

Furman was one of the points in which I started reading the book regularly again. Issue #62 was one of my big favorites. The Wildman art at the end was also liked (so long as pupils didn't randomly appear in our favorite robots' eyes).
When I got turned off by the comics is when the art would randomly change -- whether or not a new artist came in! That's why I liked Dreamwave more than some of IDW's books: artistic consistency (for better or worse). In spite of that, the storytelling was great with both DW and IDW.

All I ask is this: RETCON as much the G2 Comics (all 16 of them) as possible. Let Spike and FM live to have another internal conflict. Allow Galvatron to revive in his own time, only to discover that 2009 is our present (not one where Rodimus Prime's body is hoisted between the now non-existant Twin Towers). If Megatron gets a tank body, let it be a recoloring of the Armada version. (kidding! maybe...) Make use of the human components (Gort, Duros, and the other Headmasters, Peacemaker and the Targetmasters, Rev and the Powermasters). De-commission the Actionmasters back into transforming Cybertronians. "Flesh out" the Decepticon Headmaster Jrs. (Brisko, Kreb, and Lokos.) And stuff like that there!

I liked the G2 story line... it explained a few things and made what continuity was there "interesting"... but it just didn't feel very "connected" to the original comics. There were too many loop holes left undone for me with how issue #80 ended. I anticipate the continuation of the ye ol G1 dramas. Maybe they can find a cure for what Grimlock lead a few Autobots to their un-transforming state (which at the time was to help the Action Master toy line...). I'd like to see some remnants "spawns of Unicron" at large, myself (Tarantulus anyone?)... the fight with both sides fighting off all those bots with the Unicron helmets is classic... no pun intended. But how Fort Max and Galvatron's fight ended... was just left too..."open". I mean it seemed a horror that was how Spike (or Buster can't remember which now) died. the GI Joe crossover just didn't happen in my eyes...(thus the Machine Wars toy push-when Meg was remade by Cobra into the tank...prior to Beast Wars).

I've been re reading issues 1-80 in anticipation of this. I can't wait. I'll be buying every issue. I had a subscription to Transformers till the end last time, and was so sad to see it come to an end. This is a childhood dream come true for me.

    I like Wildman's art, but I hope he's not rushing it. (22pages in 15days!)

His sketch covers a while back were very enjoyable. With such strong nostalgia working, I hope there is a strong Editorial effort to keep the tone and quality as perfect as possible.

Probably. I wish we got Geoff Senior instead of Wildman, but it will be wicked cool none the less.
