    This!!!

I remember people saying how if sound wave or megaton mass shift the movie will suck and people will go running for the door of the theater. This is why so many made a big deal about the cube

I think though many of us accepted the Allspark's mass shifting because it was an all powerful cube. It created the Transformers, I think I'll let mass-shifting slide for a god-in-a-box like that.

Why didn't Cybertron's gravity rip the Earth apart? Because science is just a myth.

And that would also explain where he got his giant gun.

Because then the movie would have ended and been too realistic.

Or what about his gun? When optimus told sam that they werent really dead he had the giant gun. Then theres the wreckers scene, and then theres primes scene were he says "we take the battle to them!" and the gun is no were to be found.

As was said, a planet needs to be fully round, or at least the whole planet needs to be together. Only what, a quarter or a third, of the planet actually made it through the space bridge, so bets are the Gravity wasn't there.

That, or, go by Sentinel's explanation. That seems to cover it pretty well.

Allspark = mystical artefact that can just about do anything except make toast.

    Mass shift = possible

The space bridge defies the laws of physics.

Well, there you have it. Being serious, I've always maintained that things like this in these sorts of films never need to be explained. If the makers want to explain it, then fine, but they don't have to. That Sentinel explanation is all the explanation needed, IMO.

True, he doesn't have it in that shot. But then again, we've seen him toss weapons to the ground before. In that shot where we see Sam/Epps from Optimus' POV, he could've switched the gun into the other hand (the hand we don't see in the "we take the battle to them!"-shot). And maybe he set it on the ground after that? Timing works out for it. But then again, this is all just rationalizing. There's nothing on screen to prove it. Nor does there need to be, quite frankly.

Agreed. Sometimes a "non-explanation" is a good enough explanation. Why spend 2 minutes explaining the science behind stuff like this or having to rewrite your entire third act when you could just throw in a line about "don't worry, we got this s**t sorted out" or whatever? It's sort of like how even the official novel has a non-explanation. Carly tries to reason with Dylan that "...transporting Cybertron to Earth is crazy! Cybertron has mass! Gravity! It'd rip Earth apart! You can't just drop another planet next to ours and expect it to be fine!" (or something akin to that). And Dylan basically replies "Don't worry. I'm sure they've got it figured out. They're smart. Science was never my strongsuit." And leaves it at that. In that simple dodging of the topic, you basically just told the audience to just go with it. Which I'm fine with. :)

I agree with this. All it takes is one line in the film like this to address it. That's why I would have been ok with mass shifting too.

I asked my science teacher about this, and he said it wouldn't be ripped apart. Earth would just be pulled towards Cybertron quickly, causing it to collide with Cybertron, destroying itself.:thumbs2:
