OK, so the fact that Prime is M.I.A. during Sentinel's betrayal is set up when Sam radio's Mearing saying "We have Sentinel and Optimus is 10 minutes behind..." or whatever, right? Then the highway battle ensues. Then as the Autobots get closer to NEST HQ, Ironhide appears and takes on the remaining Dreads (with Sideswipe) as the rest continue on. After a 5-6 minute scene involving the whole "Mexican Stand-Off", we cut back to Sentinel arriving at NEST (with Ironhide suddenly right behind him??? But that's another story!), witness his betrayal, Ironhides Death, Sentinel's rampage, Mearing's arrival and finally Sentinel leaving with the Pillars. THEN Optimus arrives (with a Sentinel-like Firetruck behind him, but that's another story  ).

Maybe the writers should have gone with something more than "Optimus is 10 minutes behind" is all I'm saying!

That's not a firetruck. It's a large green military vehicle (similar to Animated Ultra Magnus' alt mode). The kind that are in the NEST base and that arrive at the final battle. I'm sure someone with more military knowledge knows exactly what kind of vehicle it is. But it's NOT a firetruck in the slightest.

As for the main topic, ever heard of traffic?   He may be an Autobot but that doesn't mean he can run red lights or leap over cars that are in his way. It was probably a guesstimate on Optimus' part. Think about it. Would you rather say:
"Don't worry, Sam, I'm on my way. ETA: 10 minutes."
OR
"Don't worry, Sam, I'm on my way. ETA: Somewhere between possibly 8 and 14 minutes, depending on wind resistance, gas consumption, speed and traffic."?

When Sentinal knocks Optimus's ax out of his hand, he also knocks the sword away. But before SP cuts OP's arm off, he has his sword.

Another:
When Crankcase bitch-slaps the pipe truck, two wheels fly towards Sam, but are deflected by Bumblebee. Only problem is when the truck is shown flying away, and it has all it's wheels.

Also, for those who noticed the Dreads don't have alot of car bits:
When it shows Crowbar (just Crowbar) flying to the ground, you can see his Suburban grill (headlights and Chevy logo as well) attaching to his body, but are covered by another panel.

 

  Good point... but what's up with Ironhide and Sideswipe being RIGHT BEHIND Sentinel upon arrival though? While the "Mexican Stand-Off" was taking place everyone else kept rolling along, yet IH and SS caught up to the group just fine!

 

They went through a shortcut.
Plus, the battle wasn't that long, they just lost a few seconds.

 

Sentinel and his escort probably weren't gonna stop 20 feet away from where the battle was happening. They probably turned around for HQ once they got the word that the Dreads were dealt with.

 

1.) No, he doesn't actually knock Optimus' sword away. If you watch closely, Sentinel merely kicks Optimus' arm out of the way, which is still holding onto his sword. Sentinel severs Optimus' arm (still holding the sword) and his severed arm (still holding the sword) falls to the ground.

2.) Could the wheels possibly be from other debris/destroyed cars? After all, the Dreads were going to town on all of those cars. Who's to say that there wasn't a car that was just trashed and lost some wheels?

 

Only the truck was hit. Or, what was seen, atleast.

 

Trucks have 6 tires though. two tires in the front and 4 in the back in the case of the truck in DOTM. I'm sure those tires came from the back wheels.

 

True, the truck was the only one that was seen. But as I said, it's not too farfetched to think that in the following shots where Crankcase/Crowbar aren't seen, that they're trashing other cars up ahead.

Or you know, ILM likes to throw more tires in the scene.  

 

Oddly enough, the Dreads do switch positions. When it shows Sideswipe coverting back into his clean car mode, I believe ahead you see Crowbar running, and Crankcase in vehical. Next shot, Crowbar is in vehical mode, and Crankcase is running.

 

After seeing the cables scene again, there is a lot of cables Prime got caught in, so it's kinda reason able to why he took so long. I don't think I could move very much if I got caught in that many cables, especially if I had a jetpack on.

 

In the African scene you can see a bunch of parts for the decepticon fighter ships scattered amongst the "base".

The hand, on the ground at the left, is the hand holding the matrix in the Tomb of the Primes from ROTF!

 

That's....but at first I thought that was Megatron's hand...just torn off and replaced by that one normal hand....but thanks for pointing that out. 

 

Didn't Megs have his hand cut off right after Optimus blew his face off in ROTF? Could be his old hand  

 

well if you look you can see it has all seven fingers of the prime's hand, and they are in all of the same positions.
