It's a 6th gen Nano. It's so infamously bad by now, I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone threw it out a car window on purpose when it was brand new. It's not like it did anything great. It's a shuffle with a screen, for god's sake. That said, I do find this really funny, even more so because someone actually thinks someone would want that thing back, old or new. I have a sneaking suspicion that Nano was deliberately destroyed, probably someone frustrated with it. Still, iPod from hell would be awesome. Do let us know what happens, I'd love to see this thing just refuse to die, and come back to haunt its owner forevermore (or at least for the next few weeks when no doubt s/he'll be asked "sir/madam, would you like to purchase extended warranty?" and whatever other questions). *im posting from my iPad now, and I have actually thrown my iPad across my school library's floor in disgust before, literally. The 3rd party cover withstood the shock very well, lol.
I'm very happy with all my Apple products, if we're lucky enough to get the replacement, I'd probably send it to my 11 year old nephew as I don't need one. I can see getting frustrated at an object, but I can't imagine tossing it out like that. If anything sell it on fleabay for dirt-cheap. Anything is possible, so stay tuned later today. I'll be heading back out soon to Apple.
I work for an apple warranty center and I highly doubt they are going to do squat for you. Abused and damaged product's are not covered under warranty.
Well, I turned it in and they appreciated the effort. The Genius told me that they will try and find the original owner, if not it'll probably get sent back to the warehouse. At least I did my good deed for the day.
Um. That's five hundred plus dollars you carelessly threw across the floor there, bud. You're lucky it didn't break. If you don't want the thing, sell it to someone who does instead of just smashing it.
I tried very hard at one point to destroy my old blackberry storm some years ago, it laughed at me and kept right on being a functional piece of junk But I had the last laugh as I put it in the recycling bin after i picked up my new 4g droid last year
My previous iPods and current iPhone are the equivalent of The One Ring to me. A year ago, I was taking the BART transit system in San Francisco, and found an iPod Touch on there. It was unlocked, and I was able to glean whose it was by checking some of the email addresses. Using my iPhone, I sent a couple emails and a facebook message, and the person responded back that it was hers. I left it at the Pt Richmond Bart station's lost-and-found, and told her where to pick it up. I never heard back after that, but I assume she got it back (her iPod Touch only had about 8% of juice left in it). I could have just been selfish and said 'Hey! I got me another iPod,' but I'm not that kind of guy.
