Yea, it's typically another week or so before an actual conclusion is reached. The way I see it, it's probably worth it to try and work it out one last time before pushing it to a claim. And even during the claim process, you can still communicate with the other party and work things out.

Kind of a related question (hope you don't mind me piggybacking on your thread, OP), but I asked a friend if she could look into picking up one of the sets for me, and that I would compensate. She did, and texted me back after the convention, telling me it was on her kitchen table, and she'd get back to me after she'd priced the shipping costs.

I haven't heard from her since then, even though I've tried to contact her once a week since then (either over text or Facebook); I know something hasn't happened to her, since she's made some Facebook posts in that time, so I'm wondering what I should do. I haven't paid her yet, and honestly, it'd be cheaper to get it through HTS, as far as shipping goes. Should I give her some more time to get back to me (it's been about three and a half weeks, I think), since she went through the effort to get the set for me, or just call it a loss and buy it from HTS?

As a side note, I wonder if maybe it either got lost, damaged, or she couldn't resist the toys herself, and just doesn't know how to tell me? I can't think of any other reason she'd be avoiding the issue like the plague...

But you HAVE to open the case before the deadline. You don't have to escalate the case, BUT opening the case is giving a "just in case". No one loses anything.

Ended up leaving a message about having a deadline or just needing my money back. I'll talk to Paypal now and keep the complaint open.

i don't have a car, can't drive, and i can make more than 1 trip to a Post Office. there are several around me and i can't swing a dead cat without hitting one somehow.
file a claim, bust his nards over it and get your money back.

then go to HTS and get a set 100x faster than with this loser.

hope you get your money back.

Don't bother waiting or arguing with the guy. Just email him and say "I've waited an appropriate amount of time. If my item is not shipped in 48 hours I am filing a claim with paypal." Then do just that. No reason to fight, paypal will get you your money.

The interesting thing about the mail is that it comes every single day. You can actually just give a package to your mailman. You have do to a lot of complex calculations involving weight (you have to type how much it weighs into the computer), but it works.

When things like this come up, just ask yourself what Sheldon would do & you should be alright.

Seriously though, if it's been that long, just phone her. Since she's already your friend & not some random person who's doing you a solid, this shouldn't be a problem.

I hope Paypal works in your favor. I'd have gone straight to them. Screw him.

Go to HTS and use the coupon that expires on the 11th. It gives you 25% off and free shipping.

I typically explain to people that it may take a week or so to ship an item depending on when they pay for the item. I have a day job, with overtime hours at night and on weekends, as well as a personal life with other obligations that may cut into my time to the post office. Circumstances are different for each seller.

Your best bet? Shoot her one more message asking her about it and telling her if you don't hear from her in 3 days that you'll have to go another route. If she doesn't get back to you then buy it from HTS. If she gets around to answering you after three days then you'll have to decide what your level of friendship is and whether you can make do with two sets if she sends it.

Tried putting in the dispute. I guess I just put that I was sending money, not making a payment so it didn't take the dispute claim. Any suggestions?

If you sent it as gift, you're fucked. There's no suggestion that can be given since you cannot dispute it.

Is this true for sure? I won a case that I send as gift (I double checked and thought I was screwed, too). But I won the case and got the money back.

Hmmmmm... I thought payments sent as gift couldn't even be disputed?

I could be wrong, but that's the impression that I've gotten quite a bit (never really had to do disputes through paypal).

Did you call Paypal exomega? Whenever I tried to open a claim (on their site) it wouldn't even open since it was sent as a gift. (This was over a year ago, however.)

I thought that, too. So when this transaction flopped I thought I was screwed (I was being stupid, sent as gift when that guy has no feedback), but I was surprised when I can open a dispute. At that point I was just like "well, give it a try anyways, can't get any worse anyways). But I won! So I wonder if that whole thing is true or not or I just got lucky that PP sided with me.
