I have come to the conclusion that ninjadolemite was on enough LSD to kill an Indian Elephant while watching Energon and had hallucinations about high quality entertainment.

I genuinely like both energon and armada.

    Like, not liked.

Energon did get very pokemon-esque towards the second half, but the japs cant help it.

How can you not love the megatron-designs from Armada and Energon?

Okay, Optimus looked like a fat yank in need of a gastric band, but he was a LOT more appealing than the "Prime" Optimus, personality wise.

Another thing about Energon, just try and remember Bulkhead, with his sexy hip move-blasters.

Megatron looked stupid. He had this stupid crest on his head and his cannon was at his waist.

TF Prime Optimus Prime looks sleek yet recognizable. I won't say my opinion is fact but there is no contest as far as I am concerned.

Plus the Unicron Trilogy is just awful if one wasn't a child when it aired. Again, my opinion. Yours may vary.

Can you go at least three sentences without being offensive?

Energon Optimus didn't have a personality.

Energon was a meandering heap of nonsense. Episodes moved so slow half the time nothing happened, the dialogue was genuine nonsense peppered with "uh"s and "guh?"s, the CG animation was atrocious, often reverting to Cel animation on occasion, and said cel animation was rarely amazing. When the weak plot was expended it was repeated, padded out with pointless filler and toy introductions, then once it ran it's course the remainder of the show devolved to just random nonsense.

I normally try my best to accept that people can like things for reasons I don't understand, but I have a hard time believing anyone can like Energon. That's not an insult to you or anyone else, just a statement that the fact baffels me.

The one thing I can agree on is that some of the designs were good. Energon Megatron was awesome. But the awful animation and non-existent characters remind me only of how insultingly awful the show was when I look at them.

Suppose you've never heard of "firing from the hip?"

I love any show with top notch writing and a story arc that extends over the course of an entire season.
Animated displayed this flawlessly and Prime seems to be on the same track(although I think it was a little episodic at first).

I'm starting to love everything about the Aligned Continuity

Energon also fucked over the best incarnation of Starscream, Armada Starscream. I dislike the show by that point alone .

    Scorponok was cool tho.

Offensive comment aside for the moment, it's not like the ENTIRE FIRST HALF of Armada was about trying to collect all the mini-cons. Oh wait, it was.

I'll give you Energon Megatron, but Armada Megatron was kind of lazy. All he did was just fold up his arms, do a 180 waist spin, and then lay down, the tank cannon becoming his "big gun" because the turret couldn't be moved off the back. All in all, a rather generic H-tank alt. mode with a so-so robot mode in my book.

Armada Optimus Prime didn't get much character until at least halfway through the series, while Prime Prime got a ton of characterization in the 5-part pilot (especially the ep. where the zombies are introduced) and had some great moments throughout the series up to the end of the first season.

    Energon Prime...let's not go there.

And was the old, cranky guy who was the Springer homage. And looked pretty damn generic, hip blasters or not. Prime Bulkhead rips Eradicon guts out like a boss and screams like a little girl. Guess which one I find more interesting.

Can't agree here. Armada had a nice ending, the Unicron battles and noble Starscream were good additions to TF fiction. The kids sucked ass.

Energon is horrible and the worst TF series ever. Hell, even the toys from energon were lackluster (save my love for Fattimus Prime, Megatron, Energon Starscream and Mirage). The thousand homages and easter eggs still couldn't save it from sucking. As much as I HATE Miko, I still despise Kicker that much more.

Cybertron did some great things. Starscream was great in that series, he was a credible threat, Sideways and Soundwave had their own agenda, Megatron and Starscream had a KICKASS battle, and I liked alot of the Autobots.

I'm in the camp that's not all that impressed with Arcee, but I'm not inclined to agree with your comments about her. She's well written, but she bores me. She my least favorite of the Autobots. Hell I think she's my least favorite character on the show.

Energon is NOT. A. DECENT. SHOW. I hate Beast Machines with a passion, but I'd rather watch the entire series of that on infinite tape loop than have to sit through 2 episodes of the trash known as Energon.

Prime is rather obviously capitalizing off the movies success... It'd be stupid of Hasbro not to. There's a new generation of TF fans, and they identify with the movie designs.

Season 1 was more boring than Animated season 1, for me. Animated brought the sense of wonderment and fun I remember from seeing G1 as a child... colorful characters, light hearted humor, but not overly goofy, and truly dangerous Decepticons. I don't understand why anyone wants the Autobots to win all the damn time. That is BORING AS FUCK.

Based on it's producers tho, I think Season 2 of Prime may blow doors off. Fringe was very slow in it's first season, but I really like that show now(Orci & Co work on that show as well). Honestly, Beast Wars first season was slow too. Look how that ended up.

I like Prime alot, but it does seem to lack the sense of wonderment and joy I think Transformers needs. The world seems dead... It just doesn't have that sense of joy that TFs usually has. It is a very serious series, save the idiotic character Miko. She throws alot of the show off for me with the stupid things she does, and the fact that Optimus doesn't send her home, as I think he would in a series with this much riding on it being 'real.' It's like Sari was crazy, but it fit with Animated's vibe. Miko feels like a character that should have been in Animated, dropped into a real world setting. And she sucks.

All in all, Prime deserves it's praise and I believe it will be a good - great series, but I still would have preferred a continuation of Animated, even if they changed art styles to a more movie direction. Animated had way better characters.

Okay, I have a little question. I know people are always saying "the kids from Armada suck so bad," but when people say that, do they include Alexis in that statement? I can understand why one would despise Fred, Carlos, Billy, and Rad, but at least Alexis had enough sense not to run out into battle all willy-nilly. Plus, she helped the Autobots locate several of the Minicons. Not saying that Red Alert or another Autobot couldn't do that, but she did help them without being in the way.

I actually quite liked Alexis. She and Armada Starscream deserved to be in a better show.

That said, pretty sure TC is a communist.

Alexis was awesome. I still prefer the Cybertron Kids over the Armada Kids but damnit the Friendship between her and Starscream was fantastic.

Also The AlexisXStarscream shipping is Kiss Players esque fangirls...stop dening it.

For me, Alexis and even Rad are tolerable. The rest are just fucking awful.

As someone who has only seen the first few episodes of Armada, because I couldn't stomach any more, I found all 3 kids lack luster. Honestly my only lasting impression of Alexis, assuming I'm even thinking of the correct character, is of her being a nagging buzz kill. I don't know if that's warranted but that's what's coming to mind.

How can you even begin to say that Armada was a bad show then?

Hearsay and second hand opinions shouldn't be used to from your own opinion man.

I've watched up to episode 22 of Prime now, and alot of the characters are growing on me.

Maybe the finale will have me hooked?

Another thing about Energon, the whole Floating Unicron head was a nice touch.

And i agree that they let me down with starscream in Energon.
They built up a decent character thro armada, im sure he even sacrificed himself to save the kids didn't he?

    Carlos and Hungry Fred tho......Wow.

I've seen all of Armada and Energon, and for me, Armada started off poorly then got a little better towards the ending. Energon started off shitty and only got shittier as it progressed.

    Energon physically hurt me.

Also while some may like Alexis, I don't. To me she was snobby, poorly written, and for the "smart" character was pretty dumb.

I think the best part of Energon was the plethora of animation errors.

They were all hilarious ugly and jarring. Made G1 errors look tame.

She was probably my favorite human from Armada, although during the original run I caught onto the Alexis/Starscream thing a little too well. At one point I even thought they were going to almost kill her off and keep her alive by making her into a mini-con* and partner her up with Starscream. I think I still have my concept of an Alexis mini-con that turns into a school bus somewhere in my house.

*Years later I would learn that idea already sort of existed with the *masters during G1 and to a lesser degree with Autobot X.

The latter half of the series is at least decent. I will admit I'm biased, though, since Armada was my G1.

I like when they turn into their vehicle modes and then just drive off into the air, and when they drive around in space. Shit's hilarious, man.
