Normally I sit on the sidelines about this debate, but I hate being in threads where the Scourge fans aggresively push their goals. In retrospect, I may have come on too harsh...

Oh, and I wish I could side with your negativity, but I'm absolutely crazy about repaints. Have been ever since G1, even those that don't make sense.

I don't hate all repaints in general, I am just sick of the black prime scheme, I digibashed up an awesome deco of the generations laser prime in a deco like G2 hero prime, something different and creative, shit do a g2 gobots prime homage, something, anything different! Use a damned brain cell!

I don't get tired of seeing the arguments, I just don't read them. On the subject, I always saw him as "Scourge", but if you want to blend him in the with the G1 characters, then obviously there's some issue there. I wouldn't say I'm necessarily tired of seeing it, it's just like the Rumble/Frenzy shit, there's no real answer, people can offer all the arguments and "evidence" they want, but someone else can make the opposite case. SO yeah, umm, whatever

Uh-huh.... and just how many black Optimus Prime repaints called Scourge or Nemesis Prime have you actually seen on toy shelves lately?

Nemesis Prime is not Scourge. Scourge is not Nemesis Prime.

    Simple.

Let me stop you right there... As I am a colletor who buys more off the internet lately than any shelf (along with more than a few other people in the fandom) what is on the local shelves doesn't matter to me, I look at over all product, and the only Optimus Prime molds I have not seen done in black are what.. Galaxy Convoy/Cybertron prime?

Well then, Takara loves to do black repaints of almost everyone; not just Convoy. Its unfair to single out black Convoy repaints as being overdone with Takara.

Whereas Hasbro has barely released any black repaints of Optimus Prime. As himself or as Scourge/Nemesis Prime.

If I recall there's only been five Black Optimus redecoes released stateside. Scourge, Spychanger Scourge, Destruction Scourge, and the two SDCC Nemesis Primes.

So really ths Scourges outweigh the Nemmies.

--->What I meant was that if you want to call him Scourge in G1, there's an issue there. You knew what I meant, call him what you want, whatever.

So, the numbers are more equal

You also forgot Universe Nemesis Prime [big convoy repaint]

so, it seems Nemesis Primes outweigh Scourges

unless you want to count Cryo Scourge, but I'm not sure if this was a Takara only release

Yeah, I was fighting that poll the whole time it was up. It may just be about toys in the end, but that poll was massively unprofessional.
It's like the Erector nonsense from the HoF before this. It was a joke to most people, but there were high-ranking site members and a couple other diehards who were aggravatingly serious about it, and would not let it go. Whenever people called them on it, they'd use the "joking" nature of it as an excuse for taking it too far.

I refuse to call Black Prime scourge unless he has an army of mentally challenged clones called sweeps

I've been tired of the whole Scourge vs. Nemesis Prime thing from the very beginning. I don't give a crap what he's called. When you own him, you can call him whatever you want.

What you call your own toys in your own home is up to you but that has no basis when discussing what a character's actual name is online like this. Call him Sally if you wish, just don't try to argue that Sally is his actual name.

What about Beast Wars Scourge? Or Cybertron Scourge?

Why do you think all Transformers named Scourge must have their own Sweeps when they're clearly unrelated to the original G1 Scourge? Characters in different continuities may share a name but no other characteristics, and that is acceptable.

The slim difference with Beast Wars Scourge was the whole series was a new continuity W/O having altmodes resembling any names sake. In R.I.D. most other bots with namesake as it were had Alt modes that did resemble their G1 counterparts with few exceptions "Scourge" being the "main" one.

Yes and the opposition to the movement did nothing out of line at all. They didn't pm or post personal threats and insults to other members or anything like that.. Since you brought it up make sure when you tell a story you tell it all, a half truth is still a full lie. :peoples:

But back on topic, the fact has not changed, those folks only want the name to match the mold. Its not as if they are asking for retail chains to not overload on the first two waves of a toy line or anything of that nature. Let's face it, this was yet another simple issue blown totally out of proportion by needless excessive opposition for the personal entertainment of a few with big egos.
