i think they chose bullets because they are dirtier, more akin to weaponry that we would make than lasers. despite them being aliens, the trilogy puts a big emphasis on how similar to humans the Transformers are, for better or worse. meh, i dunno just my two cents
*facepalm* Rail guns launch conventional munitions utilizing an extremely powerful series of electromagnets. The round/bullet being launched actually superheats from the friction of the air and the outer coating sublimates directly into plasma, making the bullet leave a streak of boiled atmosphere behind it. The navy actually has these and is working on intalling them on ships, just like in Transformers. It's not even classified.
I don’t really know the answer. Maybe they just wanted to steer clear of the sci-fi cliché of laser bolts?
With so much other sci fi cliche in the films why would lasers be the one place they decided oh that's too sci fi? A teleporter that can teleport an entire planet. Thank goodness for some space ships. And it's hard not to be sci fi when it's huge robots from another planet. I think it's got to be more from a visual side than thinking lasers were too sci fi. Micheal Bay really loves military gear and modern guns so I could see where his love of that sort of weaponry could influence him on what he wanted the designers to have the robot use.
I dont see how lasers could be used as weaponry unless you prefer burning small holes on your foes over a long period of time.. and you need a strong laser to do that..
Because the action was hectic enough. They didn't need to add lasers and cause seizures amongst the audience.
your right the 1st movie did have laser i gest m.bay just like the bullets! i dont mind it ! the movies was teriffic!
Jut because they're advanced doesn't mean they've figured out how to manipulate and focus a beam of light powerful enough to be effective. Rail guns shoot physical slugs using electromagnets.
Optimus and Ratchet used focused lasers in DOTM to cut metal, they could use them on a Decepticon and fry them to death. Just saying, the opportunity was there, they just preferred to use bullets.
Fuck lasers, it's cool if there are SOME electronic-ish weaponry, but only used sparingly. Bullets & missiles rock shit!
