So I take it all those insecticons in the picture are Shockwave's experiment too?

 

not that i have a problem with it, because i will be purchasing every single one of the figures when/if they come out, but how did robots based on dinosaurs end up on cybertron...

 

Shockwave experiments on them and changes them into having Dino modes

 

It's been stated numerous times already, but the reason there are Dinosaur modes available on Cybertron is thus (Potential Spoilers Ahead!):

Shockwave has been using an ancient space bridge to observe Earth, and has noticed Dinosaurs on the planet. Impressed by the beasts, he experiments on Grimlock's squad, giving them beast modes in the hopes of controlling them and using them as a weapon.

That's why they are Dinosaurs.

I wonder why nobody kicked up a fuss about Trypticon when WfC came around.

 

Cool news! Makes me excited to play the game! Hope it lets you play as each character. I doubt they'll be usable in multiplayer though.

Also I have some speculation on what happens to Sludge. Maybe he goes through something similar to Grimlock where his brain gets messed up. But instead of just having a speech impediment, he gets severe brain damage, making him kind of dumb. Not goofy dumb like the cartoon, but just really "slow". I think it would really fit the way he was depicted in G1, which the game designers seem to use as a major inspiration for the game.

Another nice nod to G1, maybe more so to the cartoon than the comics, would be if the dinobots were set free by wheeljack and/or ratchet. They seem to have wheeljack's concept art hanging on the wall in that interview. Maybe in the game he's tied to dinobots. Maybe he tries to help them cope with their condition? I think it would be a great idea and a cool nod to their cartoon origins.

I would love Cyberverse figures of all the bots! Including the enemies and certain WFC characters like Omega Supreme and Trypticon. Including Scattorshot and Demolisher.

 

I'd love to see Demolishor and Scattorshot at Deluxe size, tbh. As for Trypicon and Omega, well, they'd never be made in-scale, so I guess it doesn't matter what size they make them - They'll still be too small!

 

I took pictures of Vortex and the redesigned Megatron from the magazine, but it's not legal to post 'em here, is it?

I doubt it will happen, but I wish they would skip the Stegosaurs this time. I'd love if they would pull of a Vraptor for the team. He's in the Hall of Fame, that should mean something atleast.

 

Hasbro is a toy company. Dinobots heavily featured in all features thus far on heavily promoted game. Everyone who reads this says "I hope they make toys." Hasbro probably employs at least one person who can read.

Trypticon was more of a monster than a dinosaur in the first game, just like he was a monster in the War Within series.

I am still not feeling the neon colors on the bots. I am glad they are not ignoring the comics for reference material but I hope they are not connecting this game to TF Prime. The show is ok but not what I would like to consider true TF continuity material.

 

With Transformers Prime having such a small cast and it taking a while to get anything else going on the movie front maybe this will be Hasbro's excuse to give us all five dinobots in the same style. Come on Hasbro the only thing cooler than robots is robotic dinosaurs.

 

they should make these bad boys in the 2012 generations line!
