Best issue of the Cybertron based part of Chaos so far.

    Highlights-

Devastator shows up with a bum leg. Kinda morbid. Sunstreakers scene with him is great. Totally thought he was going to sacrifice himself. Again.

All the Decepticons form the Deceptigod. I thought from the preview it would just be the sweeps. Not crazy about that idea. The Decepticons that aren't Sweeps all start speaking binary and go nuts. Drift has a cool scene here.

Arcee shows up briefly. Looking forward to how that will play out.

I likes this issue. But I'm more excited to see whats up with Jazz in the next issue

I'm still not sure how I feel about it...
    - The space bridge tracking thing for the Decepticon reinforcements seemed far too forced, Soundwave appears perfectly fine for someone who was shot in the face last we saw (yes I know Shockwave said he could fix him but if he's up and running the very next time we see him whats the damn point of shooting him to begin with?)
    - If being an Autobot or Decepticon is just a choice and there's no racial difference then why are only the Decepticons doing the binary mumbles into the mass creature thingy? Drift was a Decepticon then chose to be an Autobot, how is that different than Sideswipe or Prime who just chose sooner?
    - I still feel like after 3 issues I have no freaking clue what's going on... nor do I feel like Costa really does either...
    - At least I could tell who was who for a change. The artwork is good but not fitting to Transformers IMHO
    - Devastator vs Sunstreaker was awesome, I'll grant that. Cause it was easily the best part of the issue.
-Megatron: "Prime help me slaughter!!!!!!," Prime: "No I'm busy, do it yourself," Megs: "Okay"

I'm sure there's more but yea... like ORIO I'm more excited to see Jazz in the next issue (my guess - Jazz vs Spike in a battle to the Death for a free pass on the whole "murder some random person/'Con" thing)

COMPLETELY agree with everything Cybermnky said. This issue just didn't quite sit right with me. The space bridge thing just seemed like an excuse to suddenly have Megs' crew there unexpectedly. Don't like the Deceptigod thing. And having only decepticons including ones that have switched sides (drift) go nuts and combine is pretty dumb really. They're ALL cybertronians, they're just seperate factions. It just doesn't make any sense.

And yet again the whole entire issue feels like it's still just build up to this "Chaos" event that STILL hasn't even happened yet. So what, all these events on Cybertron are going to be wrapped up in 1 or 2 issues?!?! That's all that's left in the "Chaos" series as far as Cybertron is concerned. I'm sure hoping the two new ongoing series after all this "chaos" stuff is MUCH better. If not I think I might actually finally call it quits.

The giant monster formed by the Sweeps swarming together reminds me of Crippletron from Family guy, oddly enough.

maybe all decepticons where modified with a control chip kinda like overlord or maybe it has to do with the dark universe and only effect evil characters. well, i liked this issue better then the last 2. things are starting to happen, even if its hard to understand.

    Sigh.

IDW knows everyone was thinking this had something to do with Unicron. Galvatron, Cyclonus, and the Sweeps show up and start blowing up Cybertron? The tagline to the whole event is "CHAOS"? And then we're given this ... "Swarm-looking" thing, again?

And wait ... I thought Galvatron, Cyclonus, and the Sweeps weren't Decepticons. So why are the Sweeps combining to form this massive thing along with Decepticons? Drift stabs himself to stop from attacking Rodimus (the only cool moment in this entire issue), but Soundwave is back (thought he got shot and was nearly killed?) without a second thought.

Inconsistant story-telling, poor writing, and an overall lack of actually being able to tell a GOOD story. How do these ideas get approved through Hasbro? I never thought the television version of Transformers would give me more entertaining and thought-provoking stories, but IDW really proved me wrong.

I'm sorry, I'm just so horribly disappointed in this entire "CHAOS" event.

    Things I want:

    - Hot Rod and Megatron to go back to their classic look
    - He's either Hot Rod or Rodimus Prime, pick one, but let's drop "Rodimus"
    - Mike Costa off writing duties, no way give him editor duties
    - Let's pick a writer, pick an artist, and then keep them for longer than two issues

I can't think of another comic franchise that rotates artists every other issue as much as IDW does with Transformers. And I can't figure out why I keep reading ... maybe it's that whole philosophy of the train wreck as you pass by, you just have to stare at it.

Kudos to the art though - it's a different style, but I really get the feeling of "dark" that the artist is trying to portray. Good for this storyline, but let's bring back Milne, Guido, Roche, etc., for the stories after CHAOS is over.

I liked the issue, but is the "Deceptigod" a result from D-void, forcing all Cons' (except Megs) to merge into a larger force?

Hope the Heart of Darkness stuff gets addressed in a satisfactory manner...but not sure with 2 issues left, with the last probably dedicated to Prime's demise (and likely Megs as well).

Really? I don't mind their looks now. Well, I can't say I dig Meg's armored mode. But I do like the Black and neon purple stealth bomber look. I'm sure we'll see Megs' classic look return down the road after the events that IDW announced today.

Don't mind Rodimus' look. I rather like his -ation look better though.

That's gotta be a Hasbro thing right?

Agreed. I'm still miffed that he's writing the Prowl story on Earth. I don't know how that happened.

    Agreed again.

Well, Costa's gone after this... but I'll happily admit that the two new ongoings are IDW's ABSOLUTE LAST CHANCE with me, #81-plus notwithstanding, of course. Chaos is doing no one any favors- I have no problem waiting Costa out for the rest of his run.

Meh, I'm not sure if it's the artwork or whatnot, but I find myself enjoying the whole story arc with Prowl more than I do with Chaos.

Once I think about it, I think the main problem with Chaos is that it feels like everything is building up to this major thing that has yet to happen.

Well, at least Bob is fricking adorable.

Wow, that was...shit. Sunstreaker could have just brought explosives with him, dropped them and dodged but no, he had to have the silly, contrived wheelchair. Also...someone actually called it a *wheelchair*. Durrr.

The Deceptigod ...thing....Decepticon/Autobot is just a philosophical difference in this universe so that made NO sense. Especially with many of the Sweeps being either. To say nothing of ALL Decepticons suddenly having the ability to somehow combine? WTF?

This wasn't even worth the bandwidth to pirate nor the time to read it.

was that scrapper spotting for brawl on earth in issue 27 durign the last story on earth storyline with prowl?

and if scrapper is alive again why cant he properly combine with the constructicons to form devastator? its like the other constructicons are just using his alive but mindless body asa semi functional drone unit that cant even properly combine as devastators lower right leg the way the big guys dragging it behind him.

I'm curious if IDW is writing this comic geared towards 7 year olds with no attention span. Because that's what it feels like to me. IDW has not only proven that character death in the Transformers universe means nothing (Ironhide, Sunstreaker, Scrapper, Soundwave's near-fatal injury that's healed a few issues later but with NO story on it what so ever), they've proven that any serious "change" to a character is nothing more than a selling point.

MEGATRON IS BACK! WITH A NEW LOOK! BUY THIS ISSUE!

And then Megatron becomes a prisoner and doesn't do crap for issues.

A TRANSFORMER DIES! (Ironhide) ... BUT HE MYSTERIOUSLY RETURNS (around the time of the movie) IN HIS OWN MINI-SERIES WITH PLOTLINES WE'LL NEVER DISCUSS BECAUSE IT WAS ONLY DERIVED TO EXPLAIN HIS RETURN TO THE LIVING AND NOW THAT HE'S BACK WHO CARES WHY OR HOW?!

I need Transformers #81 soon. And I hope it's null of IDW fluff and is just Simon Furman and Andrew Wildman doing their schtick that we all fell in love with 20 years ago.

And when CHAOS ends, will someone please summarize it (in longer than 5 sentences) with what and why? Because a few issues in and I can't figure it out.

    Galvatron: WE MUST STOP IT!
    Optimus Prime: Stop what?
Galvatron: THIS THING THAT IS MADE FROM THE VERY TROOPS I CREATED ZOMG!

    ...!?

I'm surprised by how most of Chaos turned out because IDW said it was the culmination of the works of every writer who's worked on Transformers. They promised a bi weekly comic but the story alternated between two story arcs. This meant that Chaos would only have a few issues. I'd be surprised if the story was about to get good at this point, considering that we're already into issue #28
