Do you know what’s funny; neither of them really denied anything, particularly Bay. Let’s be hypothetical for a moment and say that it’s all true, you’re not allowed to disclose something like that until the studio decides to make it official, so you have to keep on “denying” it until Paramount go public. Saying that, I believe the whispers about Bay’s involvement more that Jason’s.

He's smart. He's keeping it hush hush. If he is going to be involved, I bet the last thing he wants is all the rabid fanboys (sorry guys but if its true dont be mad) flying up his butt with questions before they even know what direction to take.
Like the time I bugged Mike Krukow for an autograph as he practiced pitching in Palm Springs. The guy just didnt want to be bothered.
I wouldnt be surprised if he comes back, and I wont be disappointed if he doesnt. I loved the movies for what they were, and I'll love the next ones for what they are.
But yea, I bet he's puttin his Transformers in the closet for awhile since he's got other projects to dive into. Besides, he has to film more scenes that he can splice into TF films, oooh just kidding I had to say it though lol....
    Dont believe everything you read.

I really don't mind what happens with all this. I'll probably go to see almost any Transformers movie, reboot or not, and if it's good with or without Michael Bay, I'll have to wait and see.

Damnit because we don't have confirmation of more movies

Okay because its not Bay. Not that I don't like him, it would just be nice to get someone else's approach

After the award night at botcon, I have a new respect for Bay.

If there are more movie and he is involved I'll still watch them. If he is not...I will STILL watch them.

I would think with the amount of publicity the movies have brought to the brand you kids would be more grateful...guess not.

    But dee bayformars!!!!

The man helped make a 25 year old toy line relevant to an entire new generation. Think of where TFs were back in '06. No where NEAR where they are now. You don't like "bayformers" (such an ignorant name BTW as Bay did not get to design the characters) don't buy them. There are entire other lines you kids can chase.

Were it not for the movies, you would not have Prime, or the upcoming MMO, or probably WFC and FOC.

Transformers was a stagnant line. Bay and crew breathed new life into it. I love that you kids think TFs would still be as big, popular and financially strong as they are now if the movies had not happened.

Completly agree. Which is why I mostly try to avoid the movie forums (or as you put it - fan wank echo chamber:lol ) Most of these kids are satisfied with bewbs and baysplosions. I for one am not. which is why I am hoping for a reboot. I could care less about g1 or the designs, just give me a good story, with coherent plot, a bit of character development, and I will be happy ( I know, I know :horse: )

Personally, I found it particularly odd that he bothers to mention that he'll be shooting a low budget flick next, but the odd part is that he threw in the fact that it should be a quick job. Now why bother to mention that little fact if more Transformers weren't (possibly) in his future?

Whether he directs or not doesn't matter to me, but I do hope he sticks around at least in an active production role. Bay could be a very valuable asset for his technical expertise.

Right now, emotions are high and tense as far as these movies go. We have to see what time will do for this trilogy. 10-15 years from now I'm sure there's going to be a ton of people who will be watching them again and wondering why they hated them so much. Moves like this have a funny way of doing that.

Statements from the other Transformers producers (specifically Lorenzo DiBonaventura) and actors (both Shia AND Tyrese Gibson off the top of my head) have made comments to the effect both Shia and Bay were increasingly interested in pursuing other projects, not doing an upteenth Transformers film just because it would make Paramount a few million bucks.

And that list isn't accurate to his workload: as a producer, in many of those films, Michael Bay's involvement didn't extend much beyond getting financing and getting people working on them. Steven Spielberg was executive producer on all the TF films, but outside of the first, appears to have had no major input in the series. Or the Marvel films where STan Lee is listing as an executive producer, but has ZERO impact on the films.

Michael Bay's directing duties super-cede his roles (such as they are) as producer, and most of those energies have been tied up in Transformers since 2006.

Here's some things I think people need to remember:
Are Paramount and Hasbro looking to do Transformers 4 and 5? You bet your sweet asses they are! As is, the only reason we didn't get the Hobbit films before now was because of rights issues.
You don't just stop when a film series grosses over a BILLION dollars.

Do they want Bay and the core cast to return? Certainly, but after 3 films, most film people DO want to do more than "the same old thing".

Are we going to find out anything soon? Probably not, if Bay isn't returning, Paramount has to get a new director, who may want to take the series in a different direction.
New production teams, new actors, mean they are going to have a bit more involved pre-production than they had with 2 and 3. Paramount is likely still trying to get Bay back, but I wouldn't expect another TF film before 2013 AT THE EARLIEST, and 2014 is much more likely.

Depends, if it's by Bay and follows the same old format, no, we don't need one.

If they want to take it in a fresh direction while keeping the animators and designers for the bots, more power to them.

Best case scenario though, new movie, using WFC designs and voice actors.

I'm saying that the Movie-verse story doesn't need to go on. I thought the ending was perfect as it was. I'm pretty sure that Transformers 4 is going to feel REALLY forced, regardless of who makes it.

Or maybe we´re getting a reboot?

Meh as long as they get toys. Like I said, movies are the only way we here in Portugal gets stuff in decent quantities when it comes to toys. If that means people have to suffer the Bay movies, well, I wish I could say I care, but I don´t. :p

I agree. TF4 will feel forced. How many more plot holes are they going to create just to keep the series going? I say reboot.

If they can't get Bay, they should focus all their attention on making a Transformers Prime movie.

Yea I see where it's going to be tricky to have the film feel like anything other than Transformers 4: Milking a Franchise to Death.

You've killed off enough big name Decepticons that it's kind of hard to build the excitement for B list villains from the comic books as the new thing to kill off. You've had two big end of the world battles to stop the Harvester and then the odd idea of enslave humanity on Cybertron. Kind of wonder where good places are to go with a story.
