The repaint is definitely a homage to Soundblaster, but I'll be surprised if they actually name the figure that. Either way I'll probably wait and get the repaint, as the black and red deco looks a lot better than the gray and blue deco of the original release.
By the looks of it, no. They might add something to the front of their names, like Special Ops, or something random like that, but their name's will most likely remain Wheeljack and Soundwave. Though in this case, it makes sense, as they want that name recognize-ability there to help sell them. Names like Downshift and Soundblaster aren't going to be as recognizable to kids these days as Soundwave and Wheeljack.
wheeljack is going to be more "recognizable" to kids? .. why, because he was in one episode of TF prime?? and even if that makes it just a tad more recognizable.. the name isn't bumblebee, so i'm going to guess that it won't affect a kids decision whatsoever.. if anything i think it's more for collectors.. people that don't want to buy into the name "Que", which in my opinion is what he should be called. i don't know.. his chest piece looks pretty fake to me. oh and.. why aren't there any real good pictures of human alliance soundwave?
He's Wheeljack because that's what the name is in most fiction, and because Hasbro has taste I know now that it cheats.
Soundwave's chest cheats? That's legitimately disappointing. Guess I'm not giving up on the HA line yet! Seriously...did it need to cheat? It's just that it's so obvious that his chest is meant to be the front of the car. Like when Optimus' truck front hangs off his back and nearly every distinctive feature of the character is actually sculpted twice!
