When Optimus was narrating the begining of DOTM, he mentioned being prepared for their true enemy, which was Shockwave.

I guess this proves Shockwave was the true villain of the movie afterall. I knew Shockwave was put into place to hide the true villain from DOTM, but in the true story it had to of been shockwave.

Those that have read the novel, I really would like some feedback regarding this topic.

Uh, no, he just meant the Decepticons in general. Shockwave's never been to Earth, so he had nothing to return to. So no, Shockwave was not the true villain.

The point is, Optimus was referring to the Decepticons, since they've been virtually quiet since ROTF; and he had no idea Shockwave was going to be in Chernobryll (spelling?).

 

Seems to me he was referring to Megatron.
