Anyway, what's up with those legs. The more pics I see of it the less I like it. It has a serious Larry the Lobster feel to it, which makes Laserbeak the desirable figure from the box.
Too bad the Human Alliance Soundwave looks nothing like Soundwave in the movie... and too bad the Soundwave in the movie looks nothing like Soundwave should. Love the little Lazerbeak, though.
I'm glad that this toy is getting a lot of enthusiasm, but I'm gonna have to pass. I thought the CGI model for Soundwave was amazing, but his HA toy just doesn't look like that cool CGI model. I'm pretty forgiving for toys that don't look screen-accurate (e.g. DOTM Prime, DOTM Megatron, both of which are cool toys), but this Soundwave is too much. Movie Soundwave had normal-proportioned arms, and this toy has Barricade-like gorilla arms. Movie Soundwave had fairly sleek legs that looked like any normal-proportioned movie character with Mercedes kibble, and this toy...isn't...that. The last straw for me was the paint job. My ROTF Sideswipe and HA Jazz are gorgeous figures, due in large part to the gorgeous silver paint. Considering this car mode is supposed to be ridiculously gorgeous (it was even in the movie's dialogue that the car was overly showy for no reason), the lack of silver really hurts it. I might change my mind after some board members get one and (fingers crossed) show that these pictures are mistransformed, but I'm passing.
Wasted opportunity to post a pic of the BIO side of the box...... I'll grab one for sure. I can forgive the legs, he'll be placed in the back of the shelf, lol.
He looks supurb. I quite like the gray plastic, to be honest, it means no paint that would eventually wear off after so many times being handled and making the toy look worse. Can't wait to pick him up for myself. You also seem to conveniently leave out the OTHER fact you stated back when that happened. When you found HA Jazz at a different location (a short time after somebody swiped "your" Jazz), he was less expensive than the one that you were originally were going to buy. Well...it's namely because we're only trying to help him save money. He has a tendency to spend more money on something that if he was just patient for to find at retail he could get a better price for. Such as Voyager Shockwave, which from what I know he paid well over $20 for a stolen toy instead of waiting around for the toy at retail (which was in the first freaking wave of Voyagers if I remember correctly). A major reason we're having a little fun about his eBay actions is because he usually makes such a big deal over getting stuff on eBay before the toy is even released officially for at least twice the price even though conventional logic would dictate waiting for it at retail would be the more economical and easier way. He also seems to have forgotten that I pointed out to him in another thread that HabsroToyShop DOES sell stuff to Canada, despite what a dated story about a supposed trade embargo between the U.S. and Canada told him, and is just as safe as eBay, if not moreso.
If I can, I'll definitely try and get this guy. He looks awesome. I'll probably keep him in vehicle mode more than often.
Indeed. And it's frustrating because they could have easily gotten him closer. And there is no excuse for giving him grey plastic. With the light shade of silver in the movie, they could have given him white plastic. Not ideal, but a lot better and accurate then that ugly, ugly shade of gray.
Id rather the 'ugly' grey than SW being white. White makes no sense whatsoever, if they're not going to paint him, a plastic that's close to his silver colour is my most preferred option.
Not positive if that's actually a store he's in or not. BUT- BBTS has really dropped the ball this time in general. I think it's partly due to them trying to make some money despite the horrible case assortments Hasbro's been throwing at them- but regardless, DOTM is the first time since I started using BBTS that I've had to go outside BBTS for hard to find items, and I've had to do it several times.
