It is generally known as part of Transformers lore that the AllSpark contains the sparks of past and present Cybertronians, right? Acting as a general afterlife for the Transformers race.

In his introductory scene in ROTF, the Fallen mentions that the power and knowledge at possessed by the AllSpark had been to transferred to Sam's mind, implying that its abilities and properties would be within him as well. Later, after being shot by Megatron, Sam sees a supposed vision of the Dynasty in the 'afterlife'. Could this just be a projection of the AllSpark within his mind?

possibly i took it as sam died and went into an afterlife of sorts. and the dynasty seeing that he was worthy of accepting the matrix. leting him come back to life and reviving optimus. but in an early script for tansformers 1 when megatron smashes the building that sam is on top of refusing to give him the allspark as he falls time frezes and sentinal aperars in sams mind telling him to shove the allspark into megatrons chest. but i dont think that the original primes were inside sams mind but he might be in the allspark

Man, that's TOTALLY what it is. A silly as "robot heaven" appeared to critics and fans who don't know their shit, "traveling into the afterlife for a chat with past leaders" has been a not-infrequent element of Transformers since 1986. Sacred implements like the Matrix, Vector Sigma and the AllSpark cube are means of access to the Allspark afterlife realm, and through the power of the AllSpark in his mind, Sam tapped in and had a quick natter with the Primes. Of all the thing wrong with ROTF, "robot heaven" isn't one of them.

It is interesting that Sam saw The First Primes not on Cybertron, but on earth ... Those mountains, sky, sun and clouds, with which ROTF begins. A Haven for Cybertronians is on Earth! At least for the Autobots :)

Well there are 12 of the original Primes on Earth, but they're dead. It would have been interesting if they had used the AllSpark or the Matrix to revive them.

How can Sentinel tell Sam to kill Megatron, if they're allies?

Yeah I don't understand why transformers fans take issue with a vision of the Primes in the afterlife while in the original G1 series there was a damned GHOST of starscream that appeared.

You know that, we know that, but the general public doesn't. It's just that it was portrayed in a piss-poor way, without any real explanation.

Actually in this continuity its never stated. Both Optimus and Megatron came back from the dead.

As for the Primes I suspect the Allspark somehow contains the entire race memory of the Transformers. The Allspark isn't a machine though as Ratchet said Raw Energy. But more appropriately Living Energy.

Optimus said all of their history is on the Allspark, its because it is connected to all Transformers and recording their life. Which is why Sam mentioned the Sentinel Prime expedition during his meltdown.

The Fallen and his Seekers don't know precisely where the Matrix is but the Allpark does as it recorded the Primes final moments.

As for the Matrix is an artifact similar to the Allspark cube. Hence when the Primes died they merged with it.

Sam merged the Allspark's knowledge into the Matrix as he died. The Primes rewaded him with his life back to resurrect Optimus and stop the Fallen.

I always thought the artifact in the movies the Allspark cube was kind of confusing, since before Allspark was a term used to describe the Transformers Afterlife realm (aka The Matrix in the Beast series). Now that that name has been given to yet another physical artifact in the TF mythos, the name of the Cybertronian afterlife is again made vague.

I like to think that the Allspark cube is just an interface to the greater allspark realm and a source of life similar to Vector Sigma in G1 and the Oracle in Beast Machines, since that seems to be the main role it fulfills.

Having him experience the knowledge of the allspark as a semi-metaphysical hallucination actually makes more sense than a human teenager being inducted into the ultra-exclusive ranks of the Autobot leaders, to me. Especially when you factor in those kind of experiences are relatively common for matrix-bearers in the mythos of TF.

Besides, everyone knows Transformers go to Silicon Valhalla.

The Primes did tell Sam that they had been watching him for a long, long time. If so, this would seem to indicate they did so from a " real" afterlife, as I can't see how this is plausible from the cube.
