Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of issues with the movie. It was just nice to be surprised that an issue that I had with the movie was removed on subsequent viewings.

I always thought that it was stupid that Sentinel was already a firetruck before he even woke up. But, they did give him a protoform mode even if it is very, very close to his regular mode. But, it is different.

 

^ Oh, it is? Cause you can CERTAINLY see tires on his feet in his revival scene.

I think they took off all his markings though, like they took off Soundwave's Mercedes logo in his first scene.

I think this might just be an "assuming the audience is dumb" sort of moment. They even had a different-color Sentinel model for that teaser, but changed him to red for the final film.

 

Pre-scanning Sentinel is burgundy and gold with no fire engine markings or parts beyond his window boobs. His tires are replaced with metal cylinders, and his arm-mounted hose nozzle is completely absent. It's nothing wildly different, but obviously changed when looked at closer.

 

I swear I saw tires when I watched it last night. I'll keep an eye for it next time.

 

Even if he actually did have the tires already, there can be a perfectly good explanation for this.

We never see his firetruck parts when they go to the ark to rescue him, and the chair where they put him is completely unnecessary, HOWEVER, the chair could be some Que invention to give him an alt mode BEFORE he wakes up, tha autobots scanned the Rosenbauer firetruck for him and gave him the alt mode before inserting the Matrix

 

Like Sso02V says there are no tires, they are just round discs.

It is he kind of sings "we are family" also I noticed that the red ferarri has an Italian accent. One more thing I just noticed is Optimus never puts away the matrix he just simply picks it up and hangs on to it.

I noticed that in my first viewing and thought "oh my god that was badass".

All right, I watched AGAIN. I do think they are wheels, but you're right, there is definitely no Earth-looking wheel/tire combo. Now I actually am pretty sure that Sentinel has a slightly different "Cybertronian" CG model in his early scenes.  

I do wish they'd made him a bit more different though. Shades of TFP, where everyone coincidentally looks like the vehicles they are going to scan already!

 

Right after Wheeljack is executed Bumblebee even says, "Goodbye, my old friend." Definately suggests they'd known each other for a long time even if it was never clarified.

Edit: Just noticed something I hadn't heard before. As Soundwave is pushing BB along just after he tried reaching out for Wheeljacks body, sounds like he says "Get off me!"

 

Has anyone noticed that when Megs is sitting on the Lincoln Memorial the tire on his left foot is THROUGH the step? It's the only cgi error I have noticed but it's a pretty bad mistake.

 

Actually this was discounted in another thread. The tires are actually on the sides of the platform, the angle of the shot makes it look like a CGI error.

 

Interesting, I will have to take a closer look next time. My wife pointed it out and I was surpried ILM would drop the ball.

 

I thought the same thing - looked for it specifically during viewing #2 and sure enough, it looked like an error to me. But someone posted pictures of the actual statue + base, and it's a step that stops right where those tires are.

 

After Bumblebee caught Sam & Lennox while Starscream was ker-splooming, 'Bee did a back flip and transformed into his alt-form. Also, Sentinel cut off Optimus' arm in their last fight.

It took me 10 views to finally see it!

One thing that's pretty cool that I can't believe I missed. Remember how Epps' team only has one rocket, and they don't get to take the shot from the building? Well that HAS to be the rocket that flips Sentinel ass-over-tea kettle and saves the Autobots from his rust gun later. (It's also the reason that they don't fire it and miss like in the novel. I wondered about that change.)

I only wish they'd had Eddie fire it, and not the bald dude with the mustache. Still awesome.

 

If you notice when you first see Carly walking upstairs she has on a hat,but when she gives Sam the bunny......NO HAT!!! Not trying to make a big deal though.

 

I think that most people don't notice that at first becasue they are distracted by something else.
