Sounds nice for a first-time con. I like the idea of a costume contest, I just hope that the judges award what is truly the best costume and not the most skimpily-dressed girl like they do at anime cons.

But putting the con at the end of June probably isn't the smartest idea because of competition with Botcon. It's possible it could even end up on the same weekend.

    Hello Greyley,
We are not competing with Botcon, that isn't our intention, we want to simply give fans an option. Not everyone can make the trip to Botcon because of the state of the economy and we are helping those people have a show they can come to without braking the bank. Even if Botcon falls on the same days as Savcon, Those that can't afford Botcon will have a option that is cost efficient and offers the same chance to celebrate the lore of Transformers :)

As for the costume contest. I doubt Mr. Kaplan (given his reputation) would judge a winner based on how revealing the costume is. Plus we have put rules in place that doesn't allow anything that isn't family friendly.

Thanks for the reply! have a great weekend!

Just emailed a link to my buddy in GA. I liked these smaller, local cons. It's such a great opportunity to meet local collectors. We got NJCC up here and I love it.
