Uh...have you seen HA Sideswipe? He's arguably a "thin" robot, and look how HE turned out.

If they made a new mold for DOTM that didn't have the roof maybe he would be great.

The bulk of Sideswipe's backpack is the hood though. The roof is nearly inconsequential in regards to his kibble.

There hasn't been. I'm just saying retooling the current mold without the canopy will not fix the backpack problem. He'll need a complete overhaul.

Ok, just wondering why mention a Human Alliance Convertable Sideswipe when this is a all Mirage toy thread?

Yes, I agree, but they do scale well with Ironhide and Brawl... The way I see it it all movie deluxes can be replaced with Human Alliances (except Bonecrusher) and all deserving movie voyagers can be replaced by leaders (except Blackout and Long Haul who need larger toys). By thinking of it this way, everything is in scale but Optimus, Sentinel and Megatron, who are about an inch two small. I could make an essay about this. Jetfire is too small as well, but there's no way he'd ever be in scale without a supreme at least.

Yes, but I'm saying that if they made HA Mirage similar to HA Bumblebee, the thin car would easily translate to the thin robot... Am I explaining this well?
This would be a great idea though!

Wait, you want EVERYTHING to be in scale? Dude, that's like, impossible. Jetfire could NOT possibly be anything better than Leader because his whole point of existing was to become Prime's super mushroom power-up. Scale existed in Transformers ONCE; Alternators, and we all know how well THAT line ended up. And Jetfire is already pretty damn big as a Leader, he'd simply be too big as a Supreme.

No, because you don't seem to be accounting for one thing: how he looks from the SIDE. Using HA Leadfoot as an example, he's horribly hollow if you look at him from the side. A critical flaw with the larger HA's is that the entire cabin space needs to be hollow enough for the mini figures to fit in, whereas with most figures that space is used to store robot parts. That's a lot of area where mass could go being lost. HA BB can get away with it because the Camaro is kind of chunky and the transformation in the stock configuration isn't as accurate to the movie. The Ferrari? NOT chunky, which means a lot less mass to play around with. You could get a good looking robot mode, but only from one angle, as all that hollow space is going to come back up from a side angle (I.E. HA Leadfoot)

Because HA Sideswipe is a good example of why HA's aren't all universally the best versions of a figure.

Does anybody else here feel that Dino/Mirage had a pretty crappy robot mode? I was thoroughly disappointed when I saw him and like most TF characters he wasn't too memorable. He looked like an Origami figure. Anyone else agree?

I also feel the robot mode wasn't anything memorable. Not like, say, Sideswipe for example. It isn't ugly though, and the alt mode should be fantastic.

A mold is for a toy. You might mean model or design.

Everyone wants everything to be in scale... but I do recognize it is impossible. I know a Supreme Jetfire would be huge, and that's how I want it. There are ways for Hasbro to make everything in scale, but I know they won't do it. Know what I mean? It'd be great to have everything in scale, but it's a fantasy.

This is exactly my point! I'm saying that Mirage similar to Bumblebee, and so a Human Alliance Mirage could be built very similar to Human Alliance Bumblebee. So, like you said, since the Camaro and Bumblebee are sort of chunky (thin, but not Mirage-thin) and the Ferrari 458 and Mirage are quite thin, this would work! It's like if someone took a Human Alliance Bumblebee, and removed a lot of the car mode, making it sleek and thin...(like the Ferrari) When they transformed it, it would be sleek and thin (Like Mirage). See what I mean now? A Human Alliance Mirage could be like a thin Human Alliance Bumblebee and it'd work out great!

Sideswipe is IMO the only bad Human Alliance...
