/\ I have the same problem; in extended mode its crooked, but when separate its perfectly straight. I've tried forcing a click over, but that just makes it worse and crooked in separate mode. Can anyone think of a fix? I get the feeling that the channel in the bottom of the gun is maybe a hair too short, 'cause it reaches the end of the channel, but I'd hate to start cutting without being sure. \/ \/

 

It seems the little gear bit that is attached to the gun bit is stuck on with a rivet. My guess is that the gear was riveted on at a weird angle and it gives us the crooked barrel.

 

I got this guy yesterday, and I think he's really cool. I bought it solely for the guns, but his transformation and alt-mode won me over. His head is the creepiest thing though.

 

Seems like Laserbeak has a tendency of changing sides on my shelf. I have to credit the guys who thought of this darn good VC Prime + Laserbeak combo!

Just go mine yesterday and I'm having some trouble making him a jetpack for Ironhide and Shockwave. Can anyone post pictures of how it looks from the back for either of them?

 

LB Is OK tiny but cool - I look forward to the redeco with the new head. I think I might prefer themould if they loose the red but otherwise keep it quite neutral.

 

He's a fun little guy, all full of personality. The movie totally sold me on the figure.




Gave him Cybertron Scout Scattorshot's gun to stand in for the chest mounted pair he had in the film.

 

Finally found this guy on a store peg. I'll admit to hating the design before the movie, but after the movie, he was one of the bots I liked best. The head detail is excellent, and I didn't realize right away that he can open his beak which really makes the head more expressive. The alt mode is kinda meh because it looks much too like a compressed version of his bot mode. Although the compression transformation is a little bit more complex than I expected. Looking forward to the voyager Prime combo.

Definitely a great representation of what you see in the movie, although I'd really like to see a Laserbeak that can transform into a pink robot.  

 

If I could find this guy in stores, I might buy him, but as of now, I'm gonna just wait for the little version that will come with HA Soundwave.

Although I DO love those pics of him as a backpack with wings....

 

i have never seen him in the stores, i am surprised that delux prime hasd become a shelf warmers.

 

DLX OP might be warming for the same reason I still haven't bought him - that bloody backpack. I hated it on TFTM Voyager OP (but bought him b/c he was the most accurate OP at the time) & still do - so it's really hard to grab a second fig with the same problem.

Still, he is almost perfectly in-scale with Deluxe-Voyager Megs, so I may still grab him...

I'm on the fence about Laserbeak - bot mode looks great, but (like Ravage before him) you're really just buying an action figure & not a transformer; because to make the bird look better, you gotta remove everything that allows it to transform into the (non-movie accurate) alt mode...

 

I wont pay full price for it, when the whole nose of the truck is on his back..I HATED the TFM1 Prime cuz of that. Both could easily, and cheaply had 3 hinges that allowed to to collapse just a bit

As harsh as I was on Laserbeak...Its grown on me a bit. He does hold cool dynamic poses, I guess whatever birdy like dynamic poses you can get with a bird, But the mechtek (although its mechanism IS flawed) is great combined. And there is just no reason NOT to buy it if you own a Fireburst, or Voy Prime..it works SO good as a backpack...

 

If I break & pick LB up, I'll have to hang him from the ceiling via some black thread, b/c he just looks miles cooler in flight...

 

Finally got him yesterday. I just LOVE his mechtech guns! Luckily the ones on mine combine without the problems I've read in the thread.

And he forms an awesome backpack / weapons add-on for Shockwave!

 

That looks cool. I do it a bit different. Try this, turn laserbeak the other way so his tail is up, and you can kinda fold the end of the tail down onto shockwave's head to look like a helmet. Then u have all kinds of ports to plug the hose into too.

Like I said, I was harsh as hell on my initial view, but very very slowly, deluxe laserbeak has seriously grown on me, and I say with the guns its one of the better deluxes. Mostly because of all the voyager interaction got me interested in it, then the more I mess with it, the more I like it.

I'm a huuuuge Joe fan, and I still could care less for the alt mode, but its decent, and allows the bird mode to look good.

I will buy the repaint as well.

 

I tried setting him upside down too but I had trouble pegging the legs on Shockwave's back since his own backpack kind of got in the way. I'll try it again later since the bladed helmet sounds like a great idea.

 

Why isn't this guy part of Amazon's $5 buck off coupon!!!

 

Picked him up at Target on a combined sale and coupon for $5.89 post tax. Love the robot-err bird mode as well as the hovership, but I'm disapointed in the mechtech gun. It's misaligned and scews off to the side in combined mode (to which I see I'm not alone).

It's annoying but I don't want to go through the hassle of an exchange only to chance getting a less awesome Laserbeak with the same problem in the guns.

Otherwise it's a pretty delightful figure.

 

As usual the review makes me want the figure, now its the matter of just looking for him.
