If they're going to start scraping the bottom of the barrel, then the MP line is as good as done. The notion that Huffer of all characters gets to step up to the plate in front of any number of other A-listers is pretty silly.


Anyways, the true nature of the design's been revealed anyways. It was never planned as a separate release. It was the designer being cute, trying to slip a "bonus" figure in with MP-10. We know that that didn't happen, so all that's left now is the design sketch.

Well technically the 24th, but yeah some people will likely have him on the 23rd.

Seeing as how I probly won't be able to afford this guy for awhile ill just be waiting for the influx of video reviews with baited breath :3

 

I was actually kinda wondering if he was still on target, considering the rather lacking volume of pre-release photography. Or maybe they figure that Prime/Convoy speaks for himself and doesn't need the publicity.

Whatever the case is, I'm still probably going to have to wait for FansProject's Backfiery to come in before I get mine, unfortunately. I'm eagerly awaiting reviews.

After the whole Rodimus fiasco (I was unlucky and got a duff one - the knee joint on one leg was misaligned), I'm gonna wait for the reviews to roll in.

Ususally the review threads on this very forum are extremely busy and comprehensive; soon after this has shipped out I reckon I should have a very long list of pros and cons!

I have to say though, I really adore the look of both modes, and I have to get the Takara version (to me, Prime isn't Prime without his trailer, and I dread to think what Hasbro will do with the smokestacks this time round), so I'm hoping the reviews are positive on this.

But it's going to be an expensive few months for me (Transformers-wise and for other stuff, too) so I'm not going to pull the trigger on this guy until I'm absolutely sure he's right for me.

 

Still set for the 24th of this month. He's been covered in a lot of the magazines and in Generations 2011 volume 2.

Maybe it doesn't seem like he got much coverage because there wasn't as much time between the announcement of his release to his actual release compared to some previous Masterpiece figures?

Compared to the hysteria leading up to mp09, mp10 is sneaking in the back door.

 

This particular Masterpiece hasn't been hyped up enough, as we've already had an Optimus, so people aren't as bothered as they probably have 1 version of that mold. Rodimus was hugely hyped, thats why he got some bad reviews, because he disappointed those who were so excited for him. Still really excited for this MP.

 

Same here. Even then, I still wouldn't get him since he costs 1/4 of a grand. Hopefully Hasbro will bring this toy to the US, trailer and all.

 

Moreso, that many of the magazine spreads showed the same pictures, and that AFAIK, he hasn't had any hobby show presence.

It's true that the release turnaround was much quicker, though. We didn't even see him in grey resin form. It was just "alright, Rodimus is out now. Well, here's Convoy!", and done.

That's true. Seems they were developing this alongside or just before Rodimus' release. So they probably wanted Rodimus to be out for a couple months before revealing anything about Convoy.
