awesome man, hopefully you dig it... if not, you spent 40 bucks for a year and don't have to renew again...

    truth...

and Grandum, i see where you're coming from, but in this day and age asking for new individual molds from Hasbro for every new toy is just not gonna happen. Repaints are a necessity, and the club coming up with creative repaints out of existing molds it always fun, even if they aren't everyones cup of tea. I personally love almost every toy from Botcon and The Club, there's a few out there that I don't need, or need anymore, but they were fun in their time. hell, i even like the g2 Cindersaur... who ever expected him to get an upgrade?

I think the only things I would have be different would have been to use the front bumper, wingtip, and missile pieces from tracks on this one. It would have given him that "slightly different but clearly a pair" flavor they had in G1.

I agree with you there. I understand why the club didn't go that route, but that would have been slick.

Yes, I am quite surprised myself lol... The pressure is on us!

March 16th 2012, BUT I would sign up/renew before then because you will want to make sure you get Issue 43. We'll see the Runs in action starting that issue!

Very nice. These are going to be an excellent pair of exclusives and I definitely plan on re-joining the Club to be eligible for them. Think I'll wait until a little closer to March, though, just in case there's an unexpected snag that delays the pre-orders going up for Runabout until sometime after September 2012.

I'm not sure I do understand why they didn't. The parts are all on the same toolings, after all (at least, this can be safely presumed), and the bumpers can be swapped without affecting the leg transformation at all (you can use them without using the Tracks shins that prevent proper knee function in the Wheeljack leg transformation).

I'm not saying I don't love them both as-is. I'm just saying I'd like the club to make that extra smidgen of effort.

Not an effort issue. Just decided that for this homage we wanted both to have same design. Just preferred the wheeljack aesthetic for both...

Heres an idea I've mentioned on a couple of other threads how about the new Tracks mold for Freeway? He's not the tallest Deluxe in the Classics/Henkei etc line, and in G1 they both turned into blue Corvettes. All that has to be done is: leave off the missiles and hood/bonnet - leg deco, flip the legs around at the waist and use Wheeljack's calves then maybe add Jazz's head and he's done!

    PS Thanks, Lumpy:thumbs2:

This! One extra smidgen of effort seems harmless and agreeable, but multiplied by the number of different tweaks and preferences proposed here, that soon exceeds the possibilities with any one figure lol.

The front spoiler on Runabout, combined with the paintjob gives off a hint of a Mad Max vibe, without going into the destruction derby/Lockdown visual motifs ;)

Not knowing how the molds were created, I was going on the assumption that going between Tracks and Wheeljack would require different molds for the changed parts.

    That works for me.

So I forgot that I have both battle chargers behind me on a shelf (initially I was just going by my recollection and the club pictures). After comparing the toys to the mockup pics, I take my hat off to the club. You kept all the key identifying marks of both figures and tweaked them just enough to freshen it up. Bravo guys, Bravo!

This could be very cool, and I wouldn't mind at all, I'd buy it! I do think keeping them all with the Classics Bb base would be more "throttlebot" lookin'.
I love the idea of the Energon Dumptruck guy as Wideload, that would work.
They have used Hounds mold before, so... Maybe FP Swindle?

I definately get where you're coming from, a Throttlebot rainbow would be a cool and cost effective way of tying most of that unit together visually. Now you've got me wondering how the Bumblebee mold would look in a metallic blue somewhere between that of United Tracks and Henkei Thundercracker!

I have to agree with what you said about Chase and Searchlight though; for some reason I have a soft spot for the latter character and would love to see him with his fog/driving lights. The Bee mold seems like the best option for both by default here, and I think if they both had remolded feet maybe, (pop up headlights and rally lamps respectively). Then again, the same alterations if at all could work on the new Wheeljack(or Tracks) mold; the Lancia Stratos is an Italian sportscar (like Chase) and rally-bred with the option to fit fog lamps (like Searchlight). Ok, that's a very lean connection, and isn't an idea I'm biased toward- just putting it out there ;)

Wideload I'm just not sure on... Rollbar? Perhaps he'd be good as a repaint/mold of the (likely Deluxe) Brawn that FP has said is deserving of a HasTak release? Thats to say nothing of the others FP are leaving alone and their typical repaints ;)  ...got to draft some Brawn designs I've got on my mind soon, haha.

    Liking these two a lot.
Hopefully I'll be able to afford to renew to get these (though I'll be probably be looking for the wonderful US contact that sorted me out with P/CP and Cheetor to help with Runabout, due to the horrendous shipping to the UK)

Did I just enter Bizzaro Universe?
