    Yup!

So anyway, I can't wait for New York Comic Con... Maybe some new figures will be announced there? Or a post-DoTM movie line? We can only hope.

I want Mirage just as bad as anyone else here, but I'm getting the feeling if we do get a toy of him, it's probably gonna suck. A vehicle mode like that and a robot mode like his, something tells me it won't translate well into toy-form.

He'll probably be a figure that doesn't hold together well with 75% of his car mode hanging off his back like alot of the DotM toys. I blame simplifying the transformations, not mech-tech. Complex transformations is the reason why we got very accurate robot modes for toys like Leader Optimus Prime and voyager LongHaul.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong (And I hope I am.) and Hasbro will surprise us with a good Mirage figure, might be one of the top five best figures we've gotten in this line, but I'm not giving my hopes up.

Hasbro's gotten really good at BB,and they seem to share some design cues(Hood chest, door wings) they might make his transformation similar to his. I'm sure Mirage will be a good toy

Of course many of the design cues Mirage and BB share are the same ones Hasbro keeps not getting right on BB in toy after toy...

How the heck is Long Haul complex? Most of his transformation is just folding up the legs into a packed up little bunch under the cab kibble. Then you just re-adjust the wheels on the legs, fold up the hands, swing the arms back, and connect the truck bed ends to the truck bed itself. Rather simple for a movie toy, but what makes Long Haul so great is because he's so simple while being able to have multiple gimmicks that don't interfere with the great articulation, such as the arm pistons.

Good point...but still, they'll find a way. After all,it seems we always get some great toys at the end of the movie lines

I agree with you in like everything here. I haven't bought ANY DoTM toys except Leader SP and Ironhide. Nine of them look appealing because they're way too small because of mechtech, but they dummed down the transformations, making them look bad. I loved the RoTF line. They were all great figures because of how complex the transformations were. Now they're all weak and childish.

Maybe not complex was the right term, but "intricate" or "involved" or something along that line. Though his transformation actually works well for his design to give us a pretty awesome robot mode. I found him a bitch to transform at first though :lol  just trying to get everything aligned.

Maybe he wasn't the best example (Only other I could think of, mainly because he's standing atop my computer). Deluxe Sideways and Lockdown? Voyager Battle Blades Optimus and Starscream? I think those are pretty good examples. :)

This. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually miss those harder transformations. They did give us better bot modes.

Yes they did. The difficult transformations were so much better, more fun. And now because of Mech Tech and people who cried about difficult transformations, we have small, poorly designed (but easy to transform!) figures. I sure hope Mirage turns out nicely. If he doesn't I'm gonna cry, but I think there's hope for him. Wheeljack and Soundwave look nice...

I think since Mirage is supposed to be a slim character, he will in fact have a lot of car hanging off his back. :(  But a Human Alliance would be awesome, because if they did something similar to Human Alliance Bumblebee (as Mirage is similar to Bumblebee) then there would be little back kibble (like Human Alliance Bumblebee). There's nothing I want more than a Human Alliance Mirage.

And the showing of interest that everyone is showing, only makes it when/if this comes out, scalpers will buy all of them and over price them. Which sucks. Real transformers fans of this community shouldn't do that, but they do.

Are you picking on little kids here? :lol

I mean, I'm pretty sure such a policy came from parental feedback, not collectors. Which means that literal crying of literal children was involved. :p

As for as the MechTech, I'd rather have that than Automorph which can break and ruin your figure, or MechAlive that requires the chest of the figure to be a cavernous mass of uselessness. ;)

I'm not picking on kids, I've seen posts on this forum by adult collectors who admitted they complained to Hasbro about difficult transformations and regretted it, although I'm sure kids did cry too.

I don't know why anyone would rather have ridiculous, inaccurate MechTech guns that make the figures little... Automorph didn't affect the figure much unless it broke, so don't break the figure... (I have a masters degree in first grade problem solving). MechAlive? The figures that had cavernous chests were Leader Prime and Jetfire (and Megatron?). This was because they were leaders and had electronics in there... Not because of MechAlive.

^ Huh, I didn't know that. I thought Leader Prime was insanely popular, though I guess Mixmaster wasn't (for SOME reason).

Voyager Megatron and Starscream absolutely suffered for this gimmick. Megatron was forced to be a shellformer, because his difficult-to-integrate chest piece couldn't be a little panel like on all the Sideswipes. Starscream's articulation wound up shoved out to the very sides, because when assembled his broad chest had to be one piece.

As for Automorph, it's incredibly easy to break some of the figures, and some came broken (Blackout). I'm kinda playing devil's advocate here, cause MechTech is hit-or-miss, but it CAN'T ruin your figure, unless you obsess over a centimeter of height and a few grams of weight.
