i want to say the first wave voyagers are also in that because they have "first edition" on the packaging as well, i swore i read they do but from what i have heard from people who went to tfcon and what i have read, wave 2 and 3 are not a part of the first edition wave
Yeah, I was under the impression that those two Voyagers were part of the preview wave as well, just passing along what I was told at TFcon. Granted, that was Hasbro CANADA, so they may be releasing things differently than the US. And to be honest, they could be wrong about the voyagers. Oh yes, I got those plastic puppies pre-ordered through kapow, hopefully landing in Nov/Dec. Bulkhead pre-orders dried up pretty fast due to the silly case ratio, though luckily I managed to nab one. Really can't wait.

Interesting. Some of the Wave 2 toys may be out in Japan before they are in America (like CJ & the Vehicon). Heck they may even beat Wave 1 in some areas. Randy

Some things are just priced differently in different countries. You don't want to know what they pay for DVD/BR's. Disturbing. Anyway, I can't wait for the opening with a kick-ass song filled with things that will never happen a la Animated. All the same, I hope they get a good dub. Beast Wars got a gag dub, and from what I can tell, Animated seemed to be targeted at a younger demographic in Japan. Prime is a "serious" cartoon, it should get a "serious" dub. Sure, there's lots of comedy, but no reason to give everyone vocal tics, etc. Also, should be interesting to see what the Japanese think of Miko.
Well, I feel Japanese dub Beast Wars and Animated characters are more "active" than original version, but, off cause, stories are same...
Where's the source for this info? EDIT: Judging by what I saw in my area Kobe, Japan, fairly good. Stores had a hard time keeping figures fully stocked. Popular figures sold out pretty quickly--though I found it much easier (and sometimes cheaper) to go through Amazon.co.jp for figures.
Pretty successful, I recall reading from Japanese collectors that the series and toys were very popular for their novel aesthetics. Speaking of the show, what if they dub it a la Beast Wars and turn Prime into an all-out comedy?

I wonder if the US dollar has much to do with anything. The prices of toys in Japan are generally expensive, regardless of them being American, Japanese or whatever. Grandparents, the ones with the fatter wallets, are the ones most likely to purchase these high-priced toys for their grandchildren—I think many of the high prices Japanese toys carry are influenced by that. Some toys are made for collectors and they are priced accordingly. Parents tend to buy their children the smaller and poorly built toys because they are, well, cheaper. My children’s friends are somewhat jealous of their situation because they have a lot more nicer toys—I don’t mind buying my children toys and neither does my family back home in the States who often sends toys as well. My children’s friends’ parents purchase their own children toys, sure, but not as often or as many. I recall watching a segment on Kamen Rider good's targeting the adult collectors. The toy rep flat-out said products targeting the older, adult market carry a higher price point because no adult wants to be labeled for buying something made and priced for children. In order to set collectables and toys apart, many company’s give their collectables a higher price points to save the dignity of their sensitive shoppers I don’t know if other countries do it for this reason or not, but I would assume high prices on collectables is solely there for the fact that collectors have jobs; thus, have more money to spend. Transformers is an old product; it has fans of all ages. With parents being a bit stingy (and the birth rate rather low here) I wouldn't be surprised if a majority of those buying Transformers in Japan are adults and not children.
