Well great now I gotta go Transform Sentinel Prime again... The leg panels were closed when he came in robot mode inside the box and I didn't notice they were there till I had him in truck mode.

 

noticed those just the other night as he was being tf'ed to be banished to the Fallen's shelf... back shooting bastard...

 

They're for the clip system bars beneath the panels, as well as show accuracy.

His dino chest area does all fold up a lot flatter than you might think at first but the instructions are rubbish. just be careful not to get the red bit in his groin caught in the hinge like muggins here did.

Try to see if there's a review thread for him a i'm sure that details that.

 

not sure if this has been mentioned, but energon megatron's sword fits into his cockpit 'backpack', it can be drawn by inserting his tank. had this toy for years and i only just realised this.

 

Classics Prime Smoke-stack Gun:




I was looking at the insides of the barrel, and found there's two bits that swivel out INSIDE that (where those rectangular bits are in the picture above). However, they didn't fit well against the slanted grip area.

So, I popped both pieces out of the gun, and switched their sides so the slanted area matched the grips angle.

So, when transformed into gun-mode, there's a lower barrel. I've had this mold for years and never knew!

 

That lower barrel is in the instructions, IIRC, so I don't think its 'hidden', more like you didn't know about it because your's was misassembled.

Also, Classics Prime's smokestack/gun has silver paint aps, but Classics Magnus doesn't.

 

Iron Man 2 concept series War Machine is a straight repaint of the Iron Man from the combiner set. The instructions don't say it, but War Machine will combine with the Spider-Man helicopter.

And War Machine looks better, too. Now if only the Spider-man helicopter had Scarlet Spider and alien costume repaints.

 

You can plug Gen. Thunderwing's guns together to form one giant supergun...but chances are you already knew that.

You can also plug Grandus in carrier mode into the wrist sockets of Metroplex in battlestation mode...and the chances are you didn't know this because you do not own Grandus.  

 

Classic Camaro BB's pistols fit in Dotm Sideswipe's hands. They look good enough to pass as his pistols,even though they aren't Double barreled

 

HA Leadfoot has molded seat belts on his arms/seats.

 

Here's something I haven't seen anybody mention (and isn't in the instructions for him), on DotM Cyberverse Commander Hatchet, there's a panel on his butt that can be flipped up to partially fill in the hole in his back.

 

DOTM Topspin's guns make great Classic Seeker Null-rays, maybe even DOTM DLX "seekers" would look good with them.

ROTF Gears and brawn are a nice team, though they feel more like "SG Brawn, the scrawny bot who loved to blow stuff up and SG Gears, a happy, apelike brute that punches the ground so hard it generates a narrow localized earthquake" than anything else..

 

RtS Lugnut: If yours has trouble with his shoulders clipping down like mine, you can partially re-extend the tail and then clip it into the back of the shoulders when they're rotated up for robot mode. Makes him far more stable and if you cut away a bit of the plastic around it, it also lets you keep the tail missile launcher folded forward.
