So today I received my Masterpiece Rodimus Prime from a fellow TFW2005 member via trade. I was really excited to check this guy out, and as I was removing him from the package and undoing the twisty ties a pulled him from the plastic sleeve and the whole robot came out....except his left arm, which still lays in the package. Seems that the arm is broken off at the shoulder joint inside the ratchet joint itself. Now, I'm not to keen on taking this apart, but do I really have any other choice? Should I just try to re-glue it? Any suggestions are much appreciated!

 

r u close to a TRU? does the seller have a gift receipt? of ur close, even w/out a gift receipt, they may be able to pull it up on the system & exchange it?
if that's no good, can you post a pic?

 

Happened to me too. I just exchanged it for another at TRU. Of course, I had a receipt. I still have to check out the new one though....

 

You could just take it to TRU seeing as its an exclusive! They want your business and will bend the rules sometimes.

 

If there's one close, take it to TRU and exchange it for another.

I don't think you don't need a receipt for that particular item, because it's a Toys R Us exclusive. Hell they've got a sticker on the front of the box. It also helps that it's an active sku. Sorry to hear about your breakage, and best of luck with the replacement.

If they can't accept it without a receipt and they have one available, just buy the one in stock and return the broken one. Might not be right since technically, you broke it.

 

The exact same thing happened with me with the first TRU MP Roddy I bought, but I returned it for refund since they were already sold out.

 

I think this would be the best thing to do if you have the money. However I don't think it is ManziG's fault it broke. It sounds like a defect to me.

 

Yeah there have been several members posting the same issue with MP Roddy.

 

The TRU MP Roddy I bought had a broken ankle. I just got my money back, that thing is a POS.

This happened to me. TWICE.

The figure came out of the package broken at the shoulder of the left arm. Took it back to exchange for another one. Opened the new one, and that one was broken too. Broken in the package!

I'm very frustrated.

 

Apparently I dodged a bullet with mine, I hope you have better luck with your exchange

 

I must have super Rodimus luck. My Takara and TRU one both are fine.

 

Yeah both of my TRU ones are fine as well. It sucks reading all of the issues this guy has though as it's really a nice toy.

 

Same here, knock on wood. I ordered the first run of Japanese Roddy and despite everyone else in the group buy having issues mine was fine. I also bought a TRU Roddy without problems. Were you able to get another or just store credit?

 

I agree. Its a really great toy tarnished by qc and engineering issues and that really detracts from people's enjoyment of it.

 

Aaaaaaaaand almost a year later, my replacement Rodimus Prime just broke in the same spot where the previous toy I had returned had broken. WHAT THE CRAP??? Is there a Radicon in the house that can help a brohter out?? It's not like these things are just lying around TRU anymore...
