An SR-71 weighs about 34 tons empty and 76 tons fully loaded. The truck that is OP's alt mode weighs 4 tons(I do believe Epps said he weighs 10 tons somewhere in ROTF). That is a significant weight disparity. I'm sure transformers can lift several times their own weight, but I doubt even Optimus could withstand carrying around something more than seven times his own weight for a long time.

He didn't discard Jetfire's corpse just to be an ass, he did it because he probably didn't have the energy to withstand its weight anymore.

maybe he thought he is a prime, someone should clean that mess for him, so just simply throw on the ground and said: "Hey! Who..who whatever, keep these back into my trailer, will ya?"  

 

You could not only see the energon fade in the blade but also his shield, when he threw it down in DOTM it had dark black smoke/burns on it's exterior, like it was "fried" from the fight with Shockwave and Driller.

As for Jetfire's parts in ROTF, Optimus used those parts to defeat both Megatron and kill the Fallen, I believe Jetfire would have been glad his parts served their purpose.

 

I think the main reason Optimus is so careless for his weaponry is because they bring death and harm.

 

I really don't think Prime enjoys fighting. I agree that when the fighting is over...it is over for him and he's done with it.

 

I'm not sure if bloodthirsty might be the best word. I was trying to show how Optimus' primal (no pun intended) self might enjoy the fighting, but his moral side may hate himself for it. In this sense, instinctively, fighting may be pleasurable to him but also causing immense guilt at the same time. It's an internal battle of ethics and morality.

 

I just don't think he cares, if he is low on weapons, all he has to do is kill for some new ones.

 

I don't think he derives pleasure from it at all. I think the disdain comes from how good he is at it, and how he keeps having to fight. You can hate fighting on every level, but still be good at it.

He's like Mr. Miyagi, except to the extreme.
