RiD had some amazing toys. The autobot brothers' transformations were nothing like I had seen before. When I look back at them, I'm still impressed with the engineering in them. Sky-Byte is still one of my favorite transformers characters ever.

I always liked X-Brawn's transformation, just for the fact it looks complicated but is much easier then it looks. That and his head becomes the passenger.:D

Oh I love me some R.i.D. The series refused to take itself seriously and that was its greatest charm. I mean, come on, what's not to love about a giant freaking hand for an alt-mode?

RID was my first encounter with Autobots & Decepticons! The show was ok, but the figures are still some of my most fav Transformers!

I love RID. I remember waking up early to watch it on Saturdays, recorded every episode so I could watch it back. I was like a little kid with this show. It was the first Transformers show I had seen that almost treated itself like a sitcom, and I loved it for it.

The toys were a beautiful combination of the past and the best of the possible "current" engineering.

I still remember the upset among the fans about losing an episode because of concern over the depiction of a building being blown up after 9-11. Even so, probably my favorite era of Transformers, and the last time I actually got the channel that Transformers airs on in the US.

I owe my life to RID if it wasn't on when i was young and when I discovered toys that were CARS THAT TURN INTO ROBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAHHHHHHHHH!!!! i wouldn't have known the joys of transformers and would never have got into them.

This is the show that completely recaptured and solidified my interest in transformers all over again. I was a fan of Beastwars but when I discovered this site, which had another name back then, and started watching streaming Japanese episodes of Car Robots is when the real nostalgia just took over and I was in love with "Transformers" all over again.

I remember thinking, holy crap it's like the 80's all over again!

Funny, I woke up and decided to watch RID again. Just found out it's the 10 year anniversary. Funny, appropriate because I came to this site because of Car Robots.

I figured I'd share again. Not 100% complete, and have added since, but pretty close.

    :bday

Too bad Hasbro isn't celebrating RID's 10th Anniversary too. They did for Beast Wars, so I think they should have for RID, but oh well. It's their loss I guess, as I would have gone completest for a RID 10th Ann. toy-line.

Yes! This series got me back in TFs!!

I don't think the Ruination/Combaticons could withstand another reissue!! Besides....why an exclusive G1 Bruticus when we have the Encore? I am confused....

Back in the day I was somewhat put off by the Anime style of RID but i got over that the moment i l.aid eyes and ears on the greatest of sharks Sky-Byte!

so hilarious and the closest thing we are ever likely to have to a Decepticon/Predacon kid appeal character.

Their celebration of RID post-RID has been lacking. Let's see...

    Titanium RID Prime
Titanium RID Prime Redeco (Hot Spot)
Universe 2.0 Bruticus (Cybertron Scourge Redeco)
Collectors Club Sky Byte (in a G2 set, Cybertron Sharkticon Redeco)
Collectors Club Sideburn (Classics Hot Rod Redeco)
    Robot Heroes Prime/Megs (Cancelled)

Even if you add that all up and release near each other, wouldn't be much of a 10th anniversary celebration. But I'll take what I can get :) .
